Rain coat recommendations?

Looking for a bright coloured rain coat?

Nothing padded, just a single light waterproof layer, for summer showers or wearing over warm layers on colder days. Bonus if it folds up like a pac-a-mac. Definitely want a hood.

My style is relatively basic - I generally live in a uniform of mum jeans or midi skirts with Air Force 1s and T-shirts. So guess I would be after something more sporty and casual than classic and smart.

Brave Soul on asos if you're after something really truly bright

Jumping in as I'll be doing more dog walking now we've got our own as well as our borrowed one. Didrikson are £££ but are they worth it? If look on ebay but knowing my look they'd not be waterproof any more

QueenofLouisiana · 17/08/2020 22:24

@polkadotpjs Didrikson are warm, dry and last a long time. I think I’ve had mine 7 years and it is still warm and dry!

Seasalt. Lots of variety and properly waterproof.

I love Ilse Jacobsen for raincoats. Hard-wearing, and longer lengths so your legs stay dry too. Stylish little details, good pockets.

Mostly solid colours, but occasional interesting patterns. Saw a woman with a quite fun botanical print one in the supermarket recently. A bit ‘out there’ but very expensive-looking. I mean they aren’t cheap new, but it’s not like you need a wardrobe full of them. Some have a fab terry lining, very comfortable and breathable.

Rains are fantastic! They’re quite roomy as they’re designed to accommodate cycling in them, but they’re fantastic. We have a few different ones

Oh, and in the same Scandì vein, check out Danish brand RAINS.

A bit more earnest and hipster, but quality too. Better on sale.
