Luxury leather handbag

Hi guys
I am on the look out for a good quality leather handbag for my 30th birthday. Budget of up to £1000.00. I have quite a few aspinal of London bags and like their quality. I was hoping for a mulberry but visited their store yesterday and wasn’t too keen. I like large tote style bags.

I know you may not like the current range of Mulberry but can you get to one of their outlet stores for previous seasons as I have found the quality of their spongy pebbled leather to be far superior than any of my other handbags. I have two Daria Hobos and an Anthony and they are unmarked after some serious uncaring use over several years - compared to the Gucci Marmont that I got for Christmas and scratched on day 1 of use 😳 (although my old Gucci pebbled leather bags were far more robust - Signoria and Soho)

I went to Cheshire oaks outlet yesterday too. They had hardly any bags 😒
I’ll have a look on selfridges website and see if I can see anything.

I have the Celine Cabas Phantom tote (small) and it's great quality and I love the look (that's very subjective, obviously). It's slightly over £1k but you can probably can get it on offer somewhere. I particularly like that the branding is very discreet. And it's kind of a structured, floppy tote if that makes sense!

Are you after a classic leather tote?

For around 1k you could get one of the Louis Vuitton treated canvas bags. They weigh about 5grams, wipe easily, very durable and I generally find them more usable. However, they only come in the in-your-face LV logo or pattern.

For a classic black leather tote, I’d recommend Ferragamo. Their leathers are supple but indestructible (better than any of my Chanel, Prada, D&G etc stuff) and the bags look classy.

I’d agree with Ferragamo and Smythson. Also Loewe

Anya Hindmarch? Beautiful leather, classic shapes, labelled inserts and often a key holder to help with organisation.

I have the bag that @prettygreen linked, it's great. I have had it for over two years and looks like new.

Oh, yes. Anya Hindmarsh does lovely stuff and the leather is top quality.

Demellier is good, too.
