Uniqlo t-shirts

I have had a wardrobe clear out, which has involved me getting rid everything I own. Nothing fitted me, my body shape has changed and I need to start from scratch.

I usually buy my t-shirts from boohoo 😂 and not surprisingly, the quality is usually awful.
Are Uniqlo t-shirts still good quality? I used to have some lovely ones.
Or any other recommendations welcome, high street not designer, but happy to pay a little more.

I just bought some from their sale. It’s a dress version though and called mercerie cotton or something similar, beautiful cotton. Their regular cotton felt a bit rubbish, not soft enough and almost rough

GreyishDays · 15/08/2020 16:58

I got some two years ago and they were lovely. Long sleeved and quite thick. Haven’t gone all mishapen like Next ones do.

LittleMachine · 15/08/2020 16:59

Thanks for the tip, I'll look out for that.

I get a few new tees from Uniqlo every year and I love them. (although I'm not a fan of the current colour range) I can't wear their boxy cut (too short on me) do pay attention to the shape!

YouStupidBoy · 15/08/2020 17:11

I love Uniqlo T Shirts, last ages without losing shape.

LittleMachine · 15/08/2020 17:33

That's enough for me, sold 😁

I'm wearing one right now Grin heavy cotton with a round neck , it was the collar that made me look at them . Like a thick band. Bit too heavy fir really warm days though .

I prefer the ones with the fine ribbing all over , they are lightweight and hold their shape really well .

Love Uniqlo for TShirts . Long enough but not all wide and boxy like others can be

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 15/08/2020 18:10

Big fan of Uniqlo T-shirt's. They wash well too.

polkadotpjs · 15/08/2020 18:14

Can anyone link to the non boxy ones ? I too need new. Got a couple from Next but not keen

LittleMachine · 15/08/2020 18:15

Yes I like that thick band on the collar.

There are two types of t shirts.

The 'u' ones are really thick and I have found them too hot during the recent heatwave.

The 'supima' ones are much thiner.

I have both and they both work well for different outfits.

LittleMachine · 15/08/2020 18:17

Polkadot, I'm not keen on the ones I've had from Next either. And I'm always peeved at paying £3.99 for delivery, regardless of what I spend.

My overall look is so Scouse mum with a hint of dressing several years too young for myself. I'm going to try and tone it down and get a lot of plain basics while I re-evaluate what I suit...which is probably not tie dye dresses and space buns.

Great quality and not expensive. I read loads of recommendations and haven't been disappointed.

curlytops21 · 15/08/2020 22:59

Look up the drape t shirt at Uniqlo. They are fabulous. Nice neck, flattering cut, wash beautifully and hang really well. Could wear casually or dress up.

VivaMiltonKeynes · 16/08/2020 00:49

Love their Supima cotton ones!

justilou1 · 16/08/2020 02:02

Love them... I find the Uniqlo U white ones are fab! You can wear a bra underneath without it showing, and they can handle the toughest washing and drying treatment. Tbh, I usually hang them on hangers to dry. Don’t need ironing.

LittleMachine · 16/08/2020 09:07

Great, thank you

I love their drape t-shirts too. Wear them a lot for work.

Deux · 16/08/2020 10:54

Another vote for Uniqlo. I only have a couple of short sleeved ones, the thicker ones, and I love them. They wash really well.

I buy some new long sleeved ones every year in neutral colours, wash and wear them loads and they retain their shape really well.

When my long sleeve ones start looking a bit shabby, I cut the sleeves off just above the elbow and then use them in the summer.

LittleMachine · 16/08/2020 11:49

I've ordered 7 including 3 drape ones. All plain..there's a lovely one with a fruity pattern which I put in my basket but they didn't have my size
by the time I checked out 😥

My t-shirts have come and I'm going to have to send them all back...they're all enormous.
