Is anyone else ever tempted to overhaul wardrobe and reinvent their style?

Just that, really.

So many clothes, but am thinking about simplifying wardrobe - just keeping things that I really, really love, perhaps limiting colour palette, going more minimalist... would love thoughts/advice/to hear about other experiences!

I get overwhelmed by choice. I need to streamline my wardrobe. I think it was President Obama who had suits in 2 colours to make choice easy. I make too many decisions in life snd work, so I find this tempting.

I have a lot of floral and patterned clothes from charity shops. Lots of tatty stuff. Needs to go.

My main focus won't be colour though, it'll be what's slimming. Put on lots of weight and only black seems to mask this a little, certain cuts too.

At 60 now, I'd like to be a bit bolder. I always seem to go for the safe option. Some of my colleagues are so stylish and wear great colours and shoes and I end up in black trousers, sensible shoes and a shirt...

FWIW, I think going through this exercise every 10-15 years is essential. As you age, your life changes and often so will your body shape. What worked at 30 stops looking right at 45/peri-menopause, and it changes again at 60+, which may coincide with retirement or working less.

I hired a stylist last year and she put together a wardrobe of things in the right shapes and colours, definitely recommend it if you can find someone you trust and get on with.
