Shoes for black dress

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow. Black dress just below knee (yes, I know it's considered a criminal offence to wear a black dress to a wedding in England (not sure about Scotland or Wales), but in Ireland it's perfectly acceptable as long as it's dressy.

So.. what colour shoes?

How’s the weather? London has been boiling hot so I’d go with strappy sandals in black or nude or subtle metallic.

White and a white clutch bag and maybe a belt or hat or something. Go monochrome mad!

I agree, black is fine as long as it’s smart and dressy. I’d go silver or nude or otherwise a jewel colour matched to accessories

Thanks. I agree with all your suggestions. My sister had suggested yellow or something but to me that bright/contrast look is over? I have a really lovely pair of leopard print ones from dune that I'm considering wearing. But otherwise it'll probably be black and gold strappy ones.

This is the dress by the way. Bargain! I ordered it because I liked it even though the smallest size in the curve range was too big. Reviews said it was small fitting..

Tried it on, bottom part fitted great, with loads of room to not be uncomfortable. Chiffon part is supposed to be loose, so that's fine... the strappy part underneath was bloody enormous. Straps far too long, whole thing too wide. Bizarre. You can even see how wide it is on the model. Luckily, my mum is great with sewing machine so she fixed it.

Weather wise we have been quite warm here all week, but nowhere near England. Like 22 degrees max. Tomorrow seems to be giving similar weather.
