Help, last minute plans with friends for afternoon tea at Gleneagles tomorrow. Gained a bit of lockdown wight and having a crisis on what to wear in this heat.

Size 16/18 Apple shape 38G bust. Light brown hair, pale complexion, like upper arms covered.

Any suggestions? Have until 8pm before shops shut Blush

I love a tenty/floaty dress when it's this hot. With painted nails and nice sandals.

I'd suggest looking at the websites of the shops near you to get your head round what they have. What are your options?

Lockdownhairdontcare · 13/08/2020 17:00

I worry with my shape I look more marquee than tent.

Have massimo dutti, Zara, next, M&S, Hobbs, phase eight, H&M all on way home.

Different budget and styles there in that list of shops. What sort of thing do you usually like?

damnthatanxiety · 13/08/2020 18:08

Gleneagles as in Scotland? It's not hot up there. It's barely 20° in the middle of the day.

It's chuffing roasting in Glasgow actually

What about palazzo pants and a nice top.

Have a fab time.

It was hot in Edinburgh today. I’ve had afternoon tea at Gleneagles before (very jealous btw). First time I wore a very plain navy midi dress from Hush and Birkenstock’s (was a hot day). Latest was last Sept and wore cream skinny jeans, flats, can’t remember what top but a cardi/jacket thing from Mint Velvet called a biker cardigan - honestly most useful item of clothing I own!

This is the dress and cardigan (mine is navy)

Thank you everyone. It’s 20 degrees just now on the Ayrshire coast. I think the weight gain and early menopause are adding to my hot flushes Blush.

I love shirt dresses, jeans and blouses or T-shirt, the occasional jumpsuit.

I came home via house of Fraser and got this dress from mint velvet. Thinking this, espadrilles and minimal make up as due to be 24 tomorrow.

@emma6776 I think I need that cardigan jacket, love a hush Kensington dress, would be great with that and boots in the autumn.

Thank you all.
