Longchamp or Coach? (...or indeed any other brand I could be missing)

I’m returning to work soon and need a really good quality, fairly large, do everything, buy once bag.

I’ve narrowed it down to bags from the above (on-line shopping). I’m not sure my budget will quite stretch to Mullberry, or I really suit them...

I have two coach bags and I really rate the quality. They are especially nice if you wait for the sale which usually offers 50% off.

I have both - longchamp leather prob better quality /feeling leather. What about furla?

ZaraW · 13/08/2020 11:44

I just got a tote bag from Smythson 50% off. I've also got work bags from Mirta. They sell handmade bags from Italy. Prices are good. Quality is excellent.

That’s good to know, thanks, I’m stalking the Coach sale but the colour I want isn’t reduced (yet).

I‘ve had a look at Furla but I’m preferring the look of the other 2 as I think when I’m not working they would still look ok. I’m not great swapping bags and love having one.

...very slow cross post, I’ll have a look at Smythson and Mirta.

I like Coach but would choose longchamp over coach any day. Quality of longchamp is second to none I think but more importantly I think the designs are much more elegant, Coach designs are nice enough but (imho) a bit boring/stodgy at times? (Just my taste!!) For the money I think Longchamp wins hands down (though I think Longchamp tends to be about 20-30% more expensive?)

In the same sort of price range/quality I've had a few bags from Coccinelle. They've all been very good quality leather and long lasting.

fizzybootlace · 13/08/2020 12:13

I also like Coach bags, have you looked at Fashionette.co.uk ?

Might help your budget go a bit further!

Annebronte · 13/08/2020 14:00

I like Longchamp and also Aspinall.

JoJoSM2 · 13/08/2020 14:18

My Smythson bag is practically indestructible. I think Cocinelle is a similar price point and I’ve had very good experience too. Tory Burch bags are really practical and well designed but I’d only go for a sturdy leather option- the really soft ones aren’t for daily wear. Or if the sale is still on, then Ferragamo are of really really superior quality.

The Handbag clinic has some really nice bags for sale. New or nearly new at good prices.

Oly4 · 13/08/2020 15:52

I always buy Coach bags for work. The leather is amazing for the price, they wear really, really well

emma6776 · 13/08/2020 19:16

Second Aspinal. They are fantastic quality bags. I like my Coach bags but think there are a lot of fakes now.

Dannemora · 13/08/2020 21:37

I’ve got some lovely Coccinelle bags, always get compliments on those.
Wardow are in Germany and I’ve brought two bags off there (one Coach, one Kate Spade, and they’re doing 20% off.
