Protein nail varnish? Or something similar?

Help please. I had gel nails done for my holiday (very unusual for me) and had them removed at the salon yesterday. When she’d soaked the gel off, she painted my nails with a “protein treatment”. I didn’t think much of if and didn’t ask what the brand was. Since I’ve been home, I can’t stop looking at my nails. It’s dried to a hard finish, but it’s not mega-shiny - my nails have a subtle sheen but just look like really nice versions of themselves, basically. What can I buy that will give me this effect at home? They look better than if I’d just used clear nail polish.

Not sure what that is but when my nails (that used to be as hard as talons) started breaking, splitting and peeling, I started using this product by Barry M www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019C99D6Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8 and it really helped. It does look like clear nail polish though rather than something satin. But it's cheap and it worked for me (I'm assuming the nail technician applied a protein treatment to help your nails).

Could it have been Nail Envy

I don’t think it was that brand, but it seems to do a similar job. I think what I want is a clear polish which dries to a matt or subtle sheen, not really shiny?

Yeah nail envy has more of a sheen than a high shine, so may be worth a try.

Ask them? If it was IBX then it’s professional use only.
