I've mastered tanning my top half but I just can't get tan to take to my legs, any tips?

What’s your routine before applying it?

twentiethcentury · 12/08/2020 09:49

I try and do it before bed so that morning I would have showered, shaved legs and moisturised....

It makes my feet orange and my shins at best patchy if that

What are you using?

Right, if it’s orange too much tan has been absorbed because high levels of dha go orange. Patchiness is not exfoliating really well.

The moisturiser can stop it taking, if it contains oil it stops it being absorbed.

What I’d do is use Superdrug 10 minute tan, I leave it on 20 minutes, but only apply a glycerin cream lightly to knees. If you buy a salux cloth off eBay/amazon and use it daily it gets loads of skin off so you’ve got a good surface to work with & you tan fades evenly too.

After 20 mins with tan on rinse with water & pat dry.

Don't moisturise before doing it, just exfoliate

I've moisturised that morning though do like 13 hours prior...is that still a problem?

Looks like it 😀

I’ve tanned my legs today - exfoliated, shaved and moisturised my knees and ankles.
I used St Moritz foam, left it on for 2 hours and showered it off.
I’m very happy with the results.

Pressed too soon - sounds like you need to exfoliate and don’t overdo the moisturiser.

I also use the st Moriz Foam - it’s really rare I much it up as the guide colour is so dark. It is a gorgeous colour when you wash it off.

Tan doesn’t take over moisturiser x
