..and used it for the first time this week. I followed the intructions. I expected great results and got... nothing.

Can anyone enlighten me a little on how to get good results from it please

I've never got good results from it. Coconut oil was better and is much cheaper. Olaplex 3 works much better on my dry frizzy hair

userbbb · 12/08/2020 06:41

I think it's overrated, love Khiels olive conditioner though.

Shelley54 · 12/08/2020 06:56

Does nothing for my hair. Just sort of makes it clump together. Does wonderful things for my mum though. I guess there's no one super product for everyone or we'd all have it already.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2020 07:01

I think the Superdrug Argan oil one in the tub is better.

LionLily · 12/08/2020 07:06

I too thought it utter shite.
I'm getting better results from using the Superdrug avocado shampoo, conditioner and protection spray.

Fruitbowlflowers · 12/08/2020 07:07

I really like it. I can use it on freshly washed hair and not blow dry it and I get an amazing hair day with zero effort.

MaudesMum · 12/08/2020 07:23

Works for me, I have to say. My hair has a tendency towards dryness and frizz, and it rebalances it nicely.

Apply on damp hair , section it and apply along the lengths of each section.

You can leave it on longer even overnight .
The effect is cummulaive (is that the right wod Grin ) the longer you use it the better results .

I don't like PK shampoos but I had a 1 litre of Easticiser from QVC and really liked it .
Nice scented ones too , the Coconut 'n' Something was my favourit .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/08/2020 08:52

And bear in mind , Philip Kingsley is a trichologist so its about the long term care not an instant gloss

Anordinarymum · 12/08/2020 13:25

Thank you one and all. I will persevere with it. Can I ask, when you use it and then shampoo afterwards, do you condition it as normal?

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2020 13:27

Yes, condition after.

Anordinarymum · 12/08/2020 13:49

And how often should I use the elasticizer please. It says twice a week on the jar.

I must say that I have never found it very good, it can make my hair very greasy but then I just thought I had used too much.

Immigrantsong · 12/08/2020 15:46

I always used it on freshly washed damp hair and left overnight. Then washed off at am shower.

Didn't do much other than make my hair feel soft tbh. I bet you could get the same results doing much cheaper treatments.

brittanyfairies · 12/08/2020 15:49

I love it. It makes my thin, fine, frizzy hair feel thick and full of body.

I use it a couple of times a week and leave it overnight

HasaDigaEebowai · 12/08/2020 15:50

Olaplex is the way to go IMO. I use Olaplex 2 on my very long very thick hair and it makes a big difference.

Glad it worked for you. I didn't get any results. Was gutted.

Really? With Olaplex 2 - the one you can only get as a hairdresser?

Olaplex 3 is a weaker home version of olaplex 2 and so might not make much difference but Olaplex 2 makes a big difference to me. I leave it on overnight and then wash it off in the morning.

Yes really.

OK that's surprising since number 2 is higher strength than the home maintenance version (number 3). Perhaps your hair bonds were already strong?

Just goes to show its horses for courses

Bananaman123 · 12/08/2020 18:16

i put loads on, put hair under a cap (got a towel thing that looks like a hat) or under a shower cap and leave on for as long as possible, overnight or longer. Double cleanse with shampoo and condition as normal.

Fruitloopcowabunga · 12/08/2020 18:22

DD uses Percy & Reed overnight recovery in preference to this, works wonders
