Private water supply. Horrid hair

We have a private water supply and it runs my hair. It makes it porous, dry and brassy. Does anyone know any treatments or shampoos that actually work?

Is it hard or soft water?.

I'm not sure? It comes from a well and it Stains the porcelain green.

Is there limescale in the kettle? If there is it’s hard, if you never have to de-scale it it’s soft water.

Soft water makes it hard to rinse shampoo out so you only need a bit and loads of rinsing.

I was also going to ask is it hard water. We had to get a water softener and it definitely made a difference to our hair and skin.
