Or would retinol fix this? Horrified after seeing a pic of me in the sunlight today (cropped below) which looks dreadful. Any advice S&B?

JingleCatJingle · 09/08/2020 19:29
I have similar wrinkles.
You are dehydrated. Botox will help too!
PicklePig31 · 09/08/2020 19:32
Botox is the only cure.
Retinol may help them look less noticeable but Botox is the only thing to really sort them out.
Bite the bullet!
AteAllTheAfterEights · 09/08/2020 19:34
This is going to sound stupid but... dehydrated like I need to drink more water or need to do something for my skin?
AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 09/08/2020 19:35
Botox baby!
Thats the only thing that really works.
Other things you could try that will yield more minimal results are:
A strong retinol (this takes months though)
dermarolling (you can buy a derma roller fairly cheaply off amazon)
Chemical peels
Best thing is botox really- and make sure to always use at least 50 spf on your face. Sun is the biggest ager there is

I don’t think your forehead even looks bad!!
huuunderickssss · 09/08/2020 19:39
How old are you?
AteAllTheAfterEights · 09/08/2020 19:40
33 😳
JemimaPuddleduck6 · 09/08/2020 19:43
A few days drinking 3 litres of water a day makes a massive difference to me! I'm 32, trying to hold off botox but I sense it's coming for me too.
AteAllTheAfterEights · 09/08/2020 19:46
So far I’ve got myself a glass of water and ordered a dermaroller... wtf do I do when it arrives?
IHeartSusanDey · 09/08/2020 20:27
Urgh all these posters bleating Botox. Just NO! It's a fucking toxin! Water, and the three steps. Acid once a week too. Invest in a Foreo face mask as it works wonders and an LED mask. Please don't go the Botox route as someone out there can always tell and will be laughing.
AteAllTheAfterEights · 09/08/2020 20:34
Off to google foreo masks...
AteAllTheAfterEights · 09/08/2020 20:36
@IHeartSusanDey it looks like there are lots of foreo options, any recommendations please?
Greenbks · 09/08/2020 20:43
Drink as much water as you can- stay away from alcohol and put some healthy nourishment in your diet, oily fish 2x a week antioxidants (blueberries etc) seriously step it up and nourish your skin from the inside out. Also slather on moisturiser
ParcelFarce · 09/08/2020 21:33
Exactly what @IHeartSusanDey says! Horses for courses and all, but seeing so many women feeling like they have to resort to Botox is depressing as all hell. Where does that road end? Wrinkles are part of life, I’m afraid! However, you can definitely make a difference to your skin by changing your diet/skincare (I also find cod liver oil makes a noticeable difference). Also, SPF50 every day if you don’t already do this, and I know some people rave about facial massage, so that might be worth exploring. Honestly though, your lines aren’t even bad, and you’re 33 not 20 - it’s perfectly normal to have a few!
Jumbogirl · 09/08/2020 21:36
What about a different hairstyle/fringe OP?
AteAllTheAfterEights · 09/08/2020 22:05
Got such a ball face, I really don’t suit a fringe 🤣
huuunderickssss · 09/08/2020 22:48
Blimey .. I'm 46 with no wrinkles ,.. I do drink tonnes of water though and I'm vegan / eat clean and don't drink .. I would never have Botox though , it never seems like a good idea to me .. I use retinol at night too .. can you try that?
MissMarks · 09/08/2020 22:59
Helpful Huuundericksss
thewinehasgonetomyhead · 09/08/2020 23:02
Water water water. 2ltrs a day minimum everyday more if you can.
Redhair23 · 09/08/2020 23:05
It’s not that bad at all, it’s zoomed in and most people’s foreheads would look a bit wrinkled at such a close inspection.
HillyJilly · 09/08/2020 23:05
Botox is miraculous.
Redhair23 · 09/08/2020 23:06
Why do people come on to boast that they have no wrinkles? WTF is wrong with people?
timetest · 09/08/2020 23:07
33 seems way too early to start Botox. Tretinoin and spf, a Mediterranean type diet and oily fish a couple of times a week would help.
HillyJilly · 09/08/2020 23:14
I started at 29. It is a preventive measure as well as a cure.
huuunderickssss · 09/08/2020 23:59
Well yeah it is helpful because if the op wants to change her lifestyle they may decrease or not get worse 🤷♀️
