Jeans and a nice top

I'm out for drink with the girls and it's jeans, heels and a nice top. I've put on a stone during lockdown and I'm just at a loss of what to wear. They are all so stylish and slim. Please help me pick an outfit?

40 year old, curvy size 12/14

I also thought it may be worth posting this dress in case you like that?

Sorry for spamming but this jacket was recommended in style and beauty and I thought it was quite a good all rounder - not sure the midnight blue would “go” but I admit I am never all that worried about that matching element lol. Also reviews say it is more of a black in colour.

Perhaps you want more of a loose blazer style though Smile or something totally different!

Yeah I still wear jeans but more casually like you say Sakura. With trainers or boots.
If dressing up a bit more I think less people wear jeans these days. Plus as most of us have put half a stone on after lockdown a lot of are finding our jeans don’t fit and we are used to being more comfy. Don’t want to squidge our lockdown belly’s into tight jeans.
Dresses and jumpsuits seem to be everywhere are the moment but casually and dressing up. But the op is hourglass so she can prob pull off tight jeans anyway.

@DrCoconut

Ginfordinner, I had jeans and a hoody on at the park today. Socks and trainers too. It's gone cold up here.
I think most mumsnetters live in the south of England given the number of threads I have seen complaining about the heat.

I don't see many women in heels these days, except at very formal occasions such as weddings.

Yeah, I have friend in London that go out very causal and say they never wear heels! Maybe depends where you are and where you are going.

@Beachlovingirl loving your style. I do like an all saints boot myself. Although the all saints dress is not me. I've looked that blazer before ... it's a sign! Pick my jewellery? 🙊

London is definitely more casual, I haven’t owned a pair of heels for at least 5 years, here an outfit for the pub would be a loose fit dress & a pair of trainers/flip flops (or shorts if I lost 10 stone off my legs!)

Beachlovingirl · 09/08/2020 21:29

Thanks op. No problem on the dress I think that’s me going through a green phase lol.

These earrings are pretty and will watch the light well with the texture. But what is your style, and what is the neckline of your whistles top? Do you wear both necklace and earrings?
