Grey highlights

I got my hair coloured yesterday, I had used a red box dye and wanted to change the colour to a mid brown with highlights. The hairdresser said she’s need to a go darker brown to cover the red, which I was ok with, and said the o really effect would be lighter with the highlights. The base colour fit my hair is fine, a bit dark but ok, but the highlights are grey which is not the effect I was looking for at all.

Is it reasonable to contact her and ask her to fix it in some way?

Maybe needs a toner to change the highlight colour

I did say at the time that the colour was darker than I anticipated but it’s not been til I got home and looked at it properly I realised how grey the highlights are. I’ll give her a call tomorrow and ask her to adjust them - my hair just looks really dull and faded, which for a new colour isn’t great
