Shampoo/conditioner recommendation for itchy scalp please?

Every time I come back to ordinary shampoo/conditioner my scalp starts itching like mad and flakes.

I’ve just finished using Polytar-seems like tar based shampoo soothes my scalp but struggling to brush my hair afterwards as it goes quite fuzzy.

Looking for recommendations of something gentle. Doesn’t matter if it comes in a bottle or a bar(love bars of soap)

Currently looking at ginger shampoo from Body Shop.

I also have a bar of Aleppo soap, considering Washing my hair with it.

Any suggestions welcome, thank you 🙂

The garnier with oats, it's in a white bottle, it's the only thing that ever suited but just to warn you your hair is dry and in shit after it. So after about 2 weeks of using I switched to a more hydrating one and now have garnier for itchy hair days

Philip Kingsley Flaky Itchy Scalp.

I’ve been using Aveeno skin relief shampoo and Noughty scalp soothing conditioner.

I did have some success with the Garnier oats but it stopped working after a while and the itch came back.

Head & Shoulders Clinically Proven Scalp Relief works for me; but I alternate between Oilatum, Nizorale and H&S ....

Regular vosene has salicylic acid in it, that helps, sometimes a few drops of tea tree oil added too, then use one of those scalp massage brushes or detangling brush to massage scalp and exfoliate.

Another recommendation for Philip Kingsley Flaky itchy scalp. As well as the shampoo and conditioner try some of the toner which you apply straight onto the scalp and rub in, it relieves itching straight away.

H&S itchy scalp is really good but I do find if I use all the time then it leaves a odd texture to my hair.
I use Tgel regularly as I suffer with psoriasis sadly, but follow a wash with baby shampoo and that seems to stop the greasy not washed feeling.

Moogoo! It's amazing, the only thing that works for me.

That stuff looks nice, which one do you recommend?

Ameliorate is very good and very long lasting (unlike some thick, gloopy ones).

FrenchBoule · 10/08/2020 09:25

Thank you very much for all the suggestions, much appreciated 🙂

@morriseysquif I use the milk shampoo, cream conditioner and protein shot for my hair. I also use their soothing moisturiser. I suffer from psoriasis and these clear it completely for me.

Came on to say Body Shop ginger! Only thing that worked for me.

healthylifestylee · 10/08/2020 14:11

DP uses ginger

I use banana

Faith in Nature Tea Tree and Lemon has really sorted my DD's itchy sensitive scalp out.

ImFree2doasiwant · 10/08/2020 15:45

I've tried all sorts, the only one that is consistently good for my scalp is the Neutrogena 2 in 1 linked above.
