Allergic reaction to balayage hair colour test

My DD has had a reaction to the hair test - red dry flakey skin and she does seem to suffer with rashes and things At the moment. Google says shes probably allergic to PPD - do you think she would be ok to have the balayage done as the Hair colour wont be touching her skin - only her hair?

Anyone else had a reaction but gone ahead and done it?

I doubt if the hairdresser would go ahead. What is the point of the patch test otherwise?

Other hairdressers may disagree but even if its an off scalp colour the washing off of the tint will touch the scalp so i wouldnt

From someone who is allergic to ppd... bear in mind that the dye, even if not touching the scalp, will be on the hair. That hair will then touch the face, neck, back (depending on length...) I learnt the hard way!

I have a reaction to hair dye. But my hair dresser is prepared to do foils where the colour won't touch my skin.

Another warned me that even with foils, some dye still might get onto my scalp so it would have to be done carefully, not right up to the roots.
