Lunch bag for Y7

Should a Y7 at a girls' state school take a separate lunch bag or just fit her sandwich box etc in her rucksack?

In rucksack, they have so much to carry otherwise and at my sons school not everyone has a locker.

Rucksack. DC wouldn't have been caught dead with a lunch bag. Not sure how the uncool message passed between year 6 and 7. No coats, obviously.

Lunch in rucksack in either a plain Tupperware box or a carrier bag. DD2 starts yr 7 in September, DD1 is going into yr 10. DD1 was very adamant that her sister shouldn’t bring her lunch bag from primary. It’s a big no no apparently, shocking really considering DD1 takes her PE kit in a Tesco bag for life.

No coats, obviously.

This. OMG drives me nuts. Get the biggest rucksack your DD can carry, OP, she will stuff everything into it. We have finally found a PE bag DD will deign to be seen dead with in public. It's a pink Adidas one from Decathlon.

Like you rucksacks fit it all in. On warm days £50 blazers get rolled into balls and shoved. In. I'm actually grateful for the small mercy it isn't lost.

DS wanted to have school lunch. .£2 for a plain ham sandwich can get to fuck. The food in senior school is rubbish compared to their primary. They had roast twice a week and a proper pudding for the same price.
