Where do you buy your jeans

As been a larger lady I've not worn jeans for years but lost a bit of weight now and think I'll get some jeans
Where do you recommend for shopping for jeans and what style do you recommend for a 50 something and a size 16 ?
Would be easier if you could just go to a shop and try them on but can't right now 😕

Marks and Spencer's

They fit well, and are very hard wearing for the price (I do tend to pick up a large bunch in the Boxing Day sales however when they are £9 a pop)

At the risk of high jacking thread, does anyone have any suggestions for size 16 pear shapes? I tend to find if I can fit my ample behind in jeans they are enormous round the waist. From experience being higher waisted definitely helps.

Literallynoidea · 07/08/2020 23:26

I am a size 12 and mid 40s and buy my jeans at Trilogy

maddy68 · 07/08/2020 23:27

Tesco. They've the best for curves

Atthebottomofthegarden · 07/08/2020 23:31

Thanks Maddy.

George have a great range. Go for a higher waist.

If your legs are good skinny jeans will look great on you

OLGADEEPOLGA · 09/08/2020 10:00

Florence & Fred Jean's are thr only ones I don't have to keep pulling up. I buy the high waist ones and they are amazing

lampshadery · 09/08/2020 10:23

Another one for M&S, I absolutely love them

cuppycakey · 09/08/2020 12:22

I agree with PP - in terms of value for money, you can't go wrong with M&S jeans. They are available in every style/colour/length combo imagineable.

I have Ivys. Sienna and Lily.

George441 · 10/08/2020 05:52

You may try h&m jeans.

PinPon · 10/08/2020 06:05

Lucy and Yak do a lovely high waisted jean - magic if you have hips lucyandyak.com/collections/organic-cotton-jeans/products/twill-pant-solid-black

I always used to get GAP jeans but now I try and get most things second hand I get mostly M&S because they're more available. They're very good quality, much longer lasting than my Gap ones were. I mostly wear straight leg and boyfriend styles

I'm a pear, and have some jeans from M and S, Debenhams and Matalan. I used to have problems with waist gape, but I think there are more brands cut for women with waists and hips these days.

Top Shop, and I’m old enough to be a granny !

Sooverthemill · 10/08/2020 07:24

@Juancornetto ( great name) always loads of great jeans on ebay

TokyoSushi · 14/08/2020 10:01

Thanks to everybody who suggested M&S Ivy jeans on this thread! I ordered some and today is the first day it's been cool enough to wear them - absolutely perfect, just what I've been looking for!

OntheWaves40 · 14/08/2020 10:04

What yogimatte said

What did you previously wear? I’m quite fat and didn’t realise jeans are a no no.

luckylady22 · 16/08/2020 15:05

Always just wore floaty black trousers as I really didn't suit jeans with my shape but don't mean jeans were a no no for everyone just me

On the back of this thread (you enablers Grin ) I've bought some M&S Sienna jeans .
Dark indigo .

Previously I had Next Slim&Lift but after surgery (and menopause) they got too small/ I got too big . So after finally accepting I woudn't wear them again, I recycled them ( I had 2 pairs)

After that it was M&S leggings and leggings . Fine with Converse or long boots but I wanted a straight leg. And the Siennas fit the bill .
