Any hair advice?

Since having dd2 I haven't been happy with my hair. I would love any thoughts.

I haven't had it cut since February. I used to wear a blunt fringe and long bob. I put in a home hair dye last week which is close to my natural hair colour. But I have so many grey hairs which are coming through thick and fast!

I am returning to work in September after being a sahm for 5 years and I am very excited. I am going to get my hair done before I start. Does anyone have any advice? Should I cut it up? To fringe or not to fringe? Should I lighten it a lot to to disguise the greys?

Many thanks Smile

I google to get ideas then take the pics I like (colour and style) to the hairdresser and we go from there.

What hair did you use? I like the shade.

My natural hair colour is similar but it keeps fading due to old pre lockdown highlights. I looked good with highlights for about a month and then the maintenance after was costly as my roots were so dark. Lightning box dye destroyed my hair too Sad

I think you should keep its style just get it trimmed & shaped. But that’s just me.

Your hair is my hair goal Smile it’s the ideal length where you can add waves & curls too.

Gosh I meant lightening not lightning!

Sorry, I’m getting used to my iPhone after switching from Android & autocorrect is a nightmare Grin

Thank you for the nice comments. I used L'Oréal colour creme gloss, dark chocolate. I do actually like the colour, but the grey is coming through so quickly I didn't know if I should try blonde, or highlights at least.

I just don't know why I can't find peace with the style! It definitely won't hold a curl. I do miss my fringe a bit, but then that takes maintenance.

@Sultanainasalad I have the same problem with greys. Highlights definitely hid them until the roots came through.

If you have the time and the money then definitely give highlights a go. You could have caramel ones so less damaging. Caramel and chocolate coloured hair sounds lovely!

Maybe go a bit shorter? I just had mine cut to chin length because of the damage highlights caused months ago.

I think the sun is also bleaching the hair dye out of my hair and revealing greys and my highlights again.

It’s hard to judge whether a fringe would be right without seeing your face shape properly. I have spent the last decade getting a fringe, growing it out, getting a fringe again... it’s a pain to maintain but I feel like my hair is boring without it.
Your colour is nice and length is good, I’d go for a trim with a blunter cut at the ends but that’s just my preference, not a fan of anything too choppy.
