I can't find a thinnish one in M&S or Next websites for DD so can you help???

Hahahahhahaha. I think you'll find most children develop some sort of waterproof covering the week before they start secondary and therefore will only wear a coat if the weather is absolutely freezing. Otherwise it's an umbrella and possibly a scarf, tops.
