Shit hair cut post lockdown and now paying for a second cut

Hair appointment canceled week of lockdown so has been 6 months since I last had it cut. Decided to try a new salon as previous one getting more and more expensive (although very good). New salon still not cheap £48 for cut and blow dry. It's shit, really shit, looked better 6 months over grown. So now have to slink back to my old salon tomorrow with tail between my disloyal legs and pay £58 for another cut.

Any other post lockdown hair disappointments?

Dh cut my hair on the weekend (I'm in Melbourne so in strict lockdown) and he's done a good job.

I dyed my own hair last month.

Think I'll keep this up until after Christmas and go back to the hairdressers just before I have to go back into the office

Glad I'm not alone! I too have a too short mumsy hairstyle having gone to a much more upmarket salon than my usual one. I felt as if she was rushing and not taking the usual care to the extent that when I got home I had to snip a couple of strands at the front myself that had got caught in my face mask and were uncut!

I think what I’m finding hard to comprehend is that my lockdown hair (home highlight kit) was a lot better than what I’ve just paid a professional for.
It just feels weird after all these months looking forward to a bit of normalcy to get something that looks like it was done at home with the lights off and pissed.
Going tomorrow to a different hairdresser to get some of the ginger cut out. Ffs.

My cut is ok I suppose but my highlights don't look as great as they normally do.

I've got experience with wearing a visor and it does affect my vision to a degree so I'm imagining my hairdresser was hindered due to wearing one along with a mask, plastic gown and gloves.

Or at least I hope that's what's gone wrong and she hasn't forgotten how to hairdress.

Ooh no I'm scared about going now! I normally only get a trim but I'm getting my hair chopped from below my boobs to shoulder length! I was really excited and now I'm nervous after reading all these disasters!

I thought it was just me. I have the opposite problem to most people, I have a short layered cut and needed about three inches off. Hairdresser seems to have only taken off about half an inch so it’s still too long and floppy.

There seems to be a plague of bad haircuts, I don't understand why. I had my hair cut three weeks ago, my hairdresser was wearing a visor, and I got exactly the same cut as usual (I have short hair).

I wonder if it is the customer wearing a mask which is a problem - I am exempt so was not wearing one. Surely some customers wearing a mask must have got a good haircut though!

Signing in. I wanted balayage and specifically stated that I didn't want the base colour of my hair to be too dark.

It turned out absolutely ridiculously dark and the balayage is not very well done. the ends seem to be darker rather than lighter.

I know I should go back and get them to fix it but I honestly feel like I'll handle this better myself. Truth be told I'm often happier when I do my hair myself; I can't figure out if I'm just conditioned to believe that it couldn't possibly look as good as a stylist would do it, or if that could actually be the case.

I am nearly always disappointed after I go to the hairdresser (have tried dozens in my lifetime) but I think it's because I just have crap hair.

Well just back this morning from my rescue haircut and all is well in the hair department again! All is less well in the bank balance department. Two haircuts in a week and purse is £130 lighter.

My first post-lockdown hair colour wasn't as good as she normally does - but it was a fucker of a job matching up two inches of roots (my hair grows stupidly fast) to bleach and she admitted that there were only so many times during lockdown she could have cut her kids' and husband's hair to keep her hand in - and I think they were still adjusting to wearing visors and that slight restriction in movement as I went in the day hairdressers reopened. It was still fucking amazing to have it back to the normal length I like and the roots gone though but there was an ever so slight blend line when normally there isn't.

Went back last weekend and back ot normal levels of superbness.
