Pencil Eyeliners and sharpening

Maybe it's just me but I don't find I can ever sharpen an eye pencil into a nice fine point, which I can use with accuracy. Does anyone have any suggestions? I always buy the brands' sharpener as well so not sure what I'm doing wrong? This goes for Bobbi brown, CT, MAC....TIA

I was told to put eye liner pencils in the freezer, at least overnight before sharpening! I did and it works! You definitely get a much sharper point if the pencil is really cold!

That’s a great tip @ginjenny. My pencils always end up ragged and broken when I use a sharpener.

I was also going to say fridge or freezer. An eyeliner or khol pencil is too soft to sharpen, you need to make it harder.

I've found that the liquid eyeliner pens are much better than the faff with pencils for drawing an accurate line. The only issue is they're not great on the inner rim.

Lancôme eye liner pencils are pretty good and a good quality sharpener.

No 7 do a really good sharpener for both large and small eyeliner pencils. Keeping them in fridge helps especially in this hot weather.
