Foundation that doesn't sit in my pores!

Almost every foundation I've tried in the last few years has begun to sit in my pores, and it looks like my face is covered in tiny skin-coloured dots.

Clarins was the least bad, but I really don't want to spend £30 on foundation that still does it.

Does anyone know why this happens, and have recommendations for foundations that don't do it? I don't really have visible pores until I put my foundation on, it's so frustrating!

Sorry just saw this! The serum was on sale at the till for a fiver and looks like the attached pic. Sorry, haven't kept the packaging.

The foundation is No7 Stay Perfect.

The Elf Puff Puff Primer is also really good and was only something like £6.

I have this trouble too OP. Funnily enough it only started to be noticeable when I adapted a solid skincare routine. Obviously I had removed the debris from my pores too well! I've tried tons of foundations to counter this and these are my best two:

For a lighter day wear - IT Cosmetics CC cream doesn't sink in like that. It's got spf too and is a great all rounder. If you're anyway pale, go for the very palest shade. The second lightest shade is still too orange for me. It smells lovely too.

If you want something heavier/full coverage I've had the best success with Charlotte tilbury Hollywood Flawless foundation. I've had people comment on how good my skin looks when I wear this - even my FIL who is an old school farmer Grin the pores do become visible by the end of the day on my nose but that's after HOURS of wearing it. Initially it really does look airbrushed, start with a small amount and build if needed.

Future skin by chantecaille is amazing but super expensive but it is v light but doesn't sit on your skin and looks so natural yet covers pores etc
I also use a sponge and then just cover areas that need more coverage with my fingers.
I have tried every foundation out there from the most expensive to cheap and this is hands down the best and most natural
