Can hyaluronic acid break you out?

Just trying to work out whether it’s the hyaluronic acid I’m using or something else. Thanks

Yes, especially if it's something with different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid and since manufacturers are putting it in almost every single product you tend to get way more than necessary in a single routine. Redness tends to be the first sign alongside general irritation. Some people just don't tolerate it well in any form.

Yes it did me when I tried it

Same. Spotty! Had to give up. Had a nice Hada Lobo hyaluronic bottle as well. Gave it to my sister who found it worked well, but I am very dry skinned and she isn't so much.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/07/2020 13:16

Yep, broke me out & my skins oily so no moisturiser needed most days.

Tinks15 · 30/07/2020 13:33

Thanks everyone sounds like it could be that. Going to stop using it.

Could you use it up on your neck or legs? Shame to bin it.

Tinks15 · 30/07/2020 17:57

It’s only a small bottle anyway from the Inkey list.

I find hyaluronic is better when it's in a spray mist after toner. Not as a serum.

Maybe try lactic acid

The only one I’ve tried that doesn’t break me out is Niod. I’ve been generally using a Superdrug ‘sensitive’ serum for hydration. It’s so cheap and does a good job.
