Eye make up ideas for ageing eyes. Can't pull off the wing anymore 😢

Hi,

So I'm 36 and have noticed recently that my usual Soap and Glory feline eyeliner isn't really doing anything for me anymore.

My eyelids are obviously starting to sag, meaning the line looks wobbly and just a bit crap tbh Sad I've only recently learnt how to perfect the perfect flick too! I was late to the party there..

I've got large eyes, but they are quite round, so need balancing out a bit. Smokey has never suited me and just makes me look dirty or like I've been punched....or both Confused

Any ideas on how to open my eyes up again and make them look...well, sexy?

Oh and they're green, so colour recommendations would be great!

Thank you! Smile

Sugar puff and fluff on YouTube is where you need to look. She is amazing. Gives excellent tips on how to make cosmetics work on women that are not in their twenties.

Purple colours look great on green eyes. I recently bought the new Naked Eye Shadow Palette, I think it’s called WildCherry, and the colours really make my green eyes stand out.

Can you just do the wing from the outside corner only rather than along the whole eyelid ?

Perhaps try tightlining the top lid.

Plus eyelash curlers and a good mascara always help.

Thanks for the replies so far.

@ladykuga, just had a quick look on YouTube. Looks good Smile

@dementedma, I used to wear purple, but again, it can look quite ageing if it's not the exact right shade. Too dark, I get the punched look, too light and I look a bit mutton. I do tend to be drawn to metallic colours, to give a bit more life to my face, but again, it's a fine balance.

I would actually go to a professional for a make up tutorial, as I'm clearly stuck in a rut, but whenever I have had my make up done, I always feel a bit TOWIE Confused Even for my wedding! I ended up having to tone it down just before I walked down like aisle! Confused

Do you think Lisa Eldridge is available for tutorials for us mere mortals?... Wink

@MrDarcysMa, it's the outer corner that I have a problem with. Whenever I tighten the lid to draw the line, as soon as I let go the line crinkles and looks awful. I see professionals doing this and it always seems to stay put, even on mature skin, so I'm obviously just not doing it right.

Oh and I'm NEVER without my eyelashes curlers and mascara. Actually haven't been since I was 13! Grin

Ah, I get you op. When I draw wings on these days I have to do it without stretching the skin as much. Due to 'looser' skin.
But I don't wear it much these days, or when I do I don't wing it out - just a line along the top lid.

@dementedma i've just found out the hard way it's naked cherry, not naked wild cherry. Warning don't google image search naked wild cherry, i've just had a screen full of fanjos! Shock
