AIBU to ask if anyone has bought a mystery box from Benefit before and what you got inside???

Where's the mystery in finding out before you order?

loungewearisthewaytogo · 28/07/2020 11:41

Well I assume all the boxes are different, just interested to see how many products, what type of products etc.

Ooh! I had wondered if people thought they were worth the money!

Never thought to ask here... waits ...

OrigamiOwl · 28/07/2020 12:45

I got this email this morning. I'd like to have a vague idea of what I'm getting before risking an order.

AliceinBunnyland · 28/07/2020 13:10

If you click on it there is a review from a previous buyer with a photo. She got a full size smoky eye palette, full size moisturiser and three minis. So that gives you an idea.

I would rather just spend £50 on things u actually want.

Tarte offers are better value for money if you're into that kind of thing.

AliceinBunnyland · 28/07/2020 13:12

The reviewer wasn't happy but Benefit replied saying to contact customer services so I wonder whether they refunded her or something

This is not an AIBU. Try the style and beauty forum.

AliceinBunnyland · 28/07/2020 13:17

But yes YABU to ask this in AIBU rather than look at reviews yourself first Grin

Hairthrowaway · 28/07/2020 13:22

There’s probably YouTube unboxings?

Frankly I always think mystery makeup boxes are shit - they tend to throw in the unpopular or soon to expire products. Like take that photo above for example, the only good product is the Gimme Brow and even that’s a mini and might not be in your shade! You’d get more for your money but buying the individual items you want.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 28/07/2020 13:24

There’s probably YouTube unboxings? What in the name of all things puzzled is that?

FFS! I am sooooooooooo old!

Hairthrowaway · 28/07/2020 13:25

Benefit probably refunded the customer after they returned the product back - I doubt they just refunded them as a goodwill gesture.

Hairthrowaway · 28/07/2020 13:27

@CuriousaboutSamphire haha people post reviews of everything and anything on YouTube! Ordering “mystery boxes” and unboxing the random contents on camera was a trend a while ago, so I’m thinking someone probably did the same with this.

Hmm

there's always one...

Perhaps but even then at least she would have got her money back but it's all speculation, I'm just assuming they did something for her.

Thanks @AliceinBunnyland, didn't even think to look at the reviews on their website 🤦🏼‍♀️

Do you think you'll get it OP?

I'm not excited by if tbh

A better deal is their build your own kit. They don't do it all the time but think it's about £60 and you pick a product from each category - face, eyes, cheek etc so at least you get things you'll use

No, I think I'm going to give it a miss, £50 seems quite a lot to spend on makeup that will end up being given to DD because it's something I already have or is the wrong colour 🤷🏼‍♀️
