I need the help of all you expert mumsnetters. I need a new hairstyle. I am 57, 5'2", size 14-16, with a round fat faceand can easily end up looking like my late grandma. My hair is shoulder length, thick and wavy, currently shoulder length style similar to Amanda Redman/Adele. I can style it lovely, straightens well, holds a curl well, blow dries nice with BBH. My problem is I work in construction, so is tied up all day, I'm also menopausal and always hot, so when I've done it to go out I always end putting it up with a clip within 10 mins so it just ends up looking scrapped back. I think I need a fringe a shorter layers so it looks a but more interesting when I wear it up. Anyone got any ideas?

But actually realised, all I need is a hairstyle that looks nice worn up

I am thinking "What to have done" too .

Fringe/No Fringe ?

I run the risk of looking like Grayson Perry (at the moment I'm more Frank Gallagher Blush

Menopausal heads and covering doesn;t bode well !
I wear PPE (mask/visor/hairnet) so I could hve a fringe and push it back, my hair needs to be off my face .

At the moment I can tie or clip my hair back. It needs a trim but I'm worried a Post LockDown Hair Disaster !

If you have a round face, a fringe is unlikely to do you any favours

Had had it cut yesterday, I love it, I've had a side swept fringe and choppy layers all the way through, a bit bit mullet like. I can wear it in a low pony with the sides out, and just a out wear it up.
