Hormonal acne

Hello. Smile I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for hormonal acne. I have had pretty good skin my whole life but I've always had hormonal acne (i.e.) spots in the chin/mouth area before my period every month. It's improved with age but I'd love to get a hold of it now that anti-aging is a concern.

I have started taking evening primrose oil and vitamin B6. I use a glycolic acid toner (definitely helps) and the Ordinary retinol.

Any tips that are easy and not too hardcore? It's not a major issue but the spots are noticeable enough.

Thanks Smile

There's another post just above that has loads of good info!

I have the same issue and use this www.beautybay.com/p/carbon-theory/cleansing-bar/?ctyid=gb&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=CjwKCAjw9vn4BRBaEiwAh0muDDNg7zWUUwkyjMs44SVxl5a_ii4O5Q0cY3OnUi-r8TtPQrQWEQhSRxoCasIQAvD_BwE
I find it really helps but definitely need moisturiser afterwards!

Thanks @waryandbored

I wonder would it be too drying for my 40 year old skin that has wrinkles?

@titsaleena
I didn't see that and thought I had a good look. I'll look again. Thanks.

Drs. It doesn’t matter too much what’s causing it, as long as your not applying makeup and never taking it off all acne is bacterial infection.

There’s lots of topical treatments. You could start off with something like acnecide from the chemists yourself.

I’ve had years if acne culminating in roaccutane and I’d say my skins very oily but the bacteria’s been starved out by the roaccutane so no more spots.

Look for cleansers, serums etc with salicylic acid (Paula's Choice, Nip &Fab, la Roche Posay)

Azeleic acid serum
Niacinamide

Effaclar (LRP) is very good.
