Hair makes me so sad

My very wavy hair has been massively effected by long term anti anxiety meds (thins hair) and grey change in texture. It’s all different lengths due to break edge.
I’m growing out lot of colour using a baylayage but have just been to the hairdresser and had an awful experience. It was a high end chain who wanted to rush me through to get more customers in - honestly I have been left with orange roots and brassy ends. Prior to this they always did a great job but Covid has obviously effected how they operate. My hair is just one huge ball of mad frizz on top of this - I just don’t know where to go from here.

What hair masks do you use? I struggle with mine hair and have recently started using the Give Me Hair mask and it's amazing!!

I think you should take some photos from the side, front and back and then phone the salon. Ask to speak to the manager and explain what has happened. Email in the photos for their info. Say you are not at all happy and what can be done? Ensure you have an appointment with a top stylist to discuss your hair.

It was the manager who did it and she was the top stylist at Toni and Guy - everyone I know has told me it’s terrible

I would actually email or call T&G customer service direct.
Is there another salon close to you? We are 20 miles from one, and 29 from another, and I know when friends have had issues in one branch they’ve asked to get it rectified in another?

Oblomov20 · 26/07/2020 09:35

At least ring the manager first. Give her a chance to correct!

MsMonkey · 26/07/2020 10:28

Definitely don't put up with it, hairdressers are used to people going back to have a correction done- it's no big deal

Disabrie22 · 26/07/2020 11:31

The manager is terrifying and rude otherwise I would.

See how different root colour has been done - she actually said at the end “if you come in again and want me to change the lighter colour let me know” - she knew

Toni and Guy are known in my area for being notoriously shit and doing what they want to do rather than listen to their client.
I wouldn’t go back, I’d go elsewhere and pay again for colour.

You should email them those photos. Don’t be scared of the manager. Just remember - there’s always the regional manager...

Not sure if it is any help OP but I used Garnier Banana Hair Food mask this week for the first time and it was a revelation-left my wavy frizz prone hair smooth and feeling very healthy. Might be worth a try?

BinkyBoinky · 26/07/2020 14:10

I'm always recommending Maui vanilla bean hair mask, it's great on my hair and it's very dry and frizzy (though not coloured).

Disabrie22 · 27/07/2020 00:19

Thanks all - I feel so middle aged right now

How did you pay?
I had similar problem and know how devastating it can be.

I tried calling, emailing, visiting salon in person etc etc.

I had paid for a senior stylist and they fobbed me off with a junior (should have twigged when she was so slow).
I knew I wasn’t happy when I left but just wanted to go home.

I hadn’t been to the salon before, not recommended, I went by the reviews on Yell. Only after being in the salon for hours did I realise couple of the reviewers with photos were staff/friends of staff who kept popping in to chat, have hair washed and dried.

The manager offered to redo my hair herself but my hair had been too damaged to work on again and I had absolutely no faith in her or her staff.

The salon was an independent and the owner/manager was very scary. One of those places that makes you feel v intimated unless you are in their circle of people and they were talking about customers in unpleasant way as soon as they left the salon.

Sorry, rambling too much. Long story short, after months of complaining including to Yell, I contacted my credit card company who conducted an investigation and I eventually got my money back.
Also posted fair and accurate reviews wherever I could.

I did get it redone after about a week elsewhere, the staff at the new salon were horrified and took pictures of before and after (including areas that wouldn’t ordinary be showing) which helped enormously with my case.

So sorry you are having to go through this but stick with it and don’t back down until you are happy with the outcome.

Good luck, excuse the pun but I’m ‘rooting for you’.
