Will my hair ever grow back

I just had a cut from a terrible person. I asked them for a trim. I've never had short hair as an adult and I like my hair a lot.
My hair was down to my bum. Somehow after asking for a trim the hairdresser chopped the lot off and it's resting below my shoulders.
I think she tried to cover up the job by leaving the front long?!

I am really sad at my new length but also don't know what I'm supposed to do with my style now. At the back it looks like someone went nuts with an axe, it's been hacked off at all different lengths.
The problem was as she curled it at the end I didn't notice how bad it was at the time.
I'm very upset at it.

Yep @damnthatanxiety I really am that dumb. It's because I swished it at the hack and it was curled and wanted to get back as I'd left my dc with the lady who I didn't know to quickly look at it. The front of my hair is almost the same length as before so it just completely fooled me.
That's how bad the cut was. My front hair is a few inches longer than the hair at the back now I've straightened it.
I do feel utterly stupid about the whole thing and that's making it all the more upsetting. No that there's much I could have done in all honesty. What's done is done.

A hairdresser hid a spectacularly bad haircut from me by curling it...It was horribly mullety and stupid short layers a la 1990’s Rachel. No wonder she hid it.
I would get your DH to trim yours so it’s straight on the back and do french braids / a messy bun To tie it back until it grows a bit.

Go back and complain op. Demand a refund and make a big fuss. What a cow she is.

Sooverthemill · 25/07/2020 10:16

@malificent7 she can't it was some random person in her own house. Not a salon.

sparklychops · 25/07/2020 10:45

Yes there's really no point in complaining to the person. Nothing will bring back my hair and a self employed person is hardly going to give up work because they've hacked my hair off. Their next victim will definitely happen unfortunately. I couldn't find them online either . No surprises there ha!

I will have to be patient now and wait for it to grow. I'm now planning to put my hair up in a bun now until at least 2022 Smile

I think you do need to voice your displeasure so at least it might save someone else’s hair! What if it was a bride getting ready for her wedding or a young girl before prom?

The least you should do is call her and tell her she was very much in the wrong. You should tell your friends to stop recommending her too!
