Glycolic acid recommendations

LetsDoItNow · 23/07/2020 12:20

I've just started using a glycolic acid from Superdrug which seems to be working well with my skin. Is it worth paying more for a 'better' one? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Alpha-H Liquid Gold is amazing, it's around £33. I switched the The Ordinary for a while but IMO its no where near as good.

i’ve tried a few different ones, and i’ve found the superdrug one the best. i’ve been using the superdrug glycolic overnight peel a few times a week as well and my skin has never looked so good. the vitamin e skincare range from superdrug is amazing. my skin was so dry and dull and within a few weeks of using the vitamin e range my skin is smoother, softer, and glowing!

Alpha H Liquid Gold is amazing!

The Superdrug one really is excellent. I know lots of people love Liquid Gold but it is quite high in alcohol which doesn't seem to agree with my skin. I like Pixi Glow Tonic.

If money is no object then Sunday Riley Good Genes is the best glycolic treatment I've tried but it is £££.

I use the extreme Nip Fab pads and my skin had never been better

Alpha H gets a lot of praise but personally I like Pixie Glow

The Ordinary

Can you buy a sample of something else on eBay? Seems a shame to spend £30 an it doesn’t work.

The bravura glycolic calendula toner is good.

The problem with most glycolic timers including the Superdrug one is that they contain witch hazel, which is distilled in (non fatty) alcohol, which is bad for your skin.

I do use the Superdrug cleanse and polish dupe though. It is pretty much identical in ingredients to the original.
