I thjnk it's beautiful on her. Looks expensive and fits perfectly. I don't think it would suit many people though, the hem would look overly 'sweet' on a lot of people.

Imo this is a far more beautiful lace wedding dress
That is hideous!

But then I think split almost to the waist is not the right look for a wedding dress

CurlyhairedAssassin · 23/07/2020 13:40

very culturally specific look which would be perfectly at home in an Italian nuptial mass, where even the smaller parish churches are very ornate with lots of marble and gilding. It would look ridiculous in 90% of churches in the UK.

Since when does a wedding dress have to match the church? Confused

My first thought was "well, if she is saving herself for her new husband she might be disappointed on her wedding night" Grin

I absolutely hate "sexy" wedding dresses but there is a limit to the "chaste" look where it descends rapidly into frumpiness and this dress is in that category.

TornadoOfSouls · 23/07/2020 13:46

I love it, especially the sleeves. It’s one for a young bride, though!

ExtremelyBoldSquirrels · 23/07/2020 13:50

@steppemum It's also pretty much see through.

Because apparently saying your vows while your friends and family stare at your actual arse (with a bit of see through lacy material on the top) is the thing to do at weddings these days.

Sisterwives · 23/07/2020 13:55

I think it's awful. Looks like a child dressing up.

Zhampagne · 23/07/2020 13:59

Since when does a wedding dress have to match the church?

Have you never noticed that the wedding party's clothes tend to correlate with the formality / grandeur / cultural norms of the venue?

Eeee, oh no, that one looks so trashy!
Instatwat · 23/07/2020 14:03

The one in the OP is ok - I seem to be opposite to everyone else and like the bottom half but don’t like the sleeves. I love shift dress style wedding dresses (but didn’t wear one myself and absolutely couldn’t pull one off!)

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 23/07/2020 14:10

The skirt is too fussy for my taste - but each to their own.

Wouldn't mind the model's waistline though...

Imissmoominmama · 23/07/2020 14:19

It looks beautiful on the model.

The second one isn’t nice at all!

ThanksItHasPockets · 23/07/2020 14:26

If you click through to the credited videographer there is a longer clip of the wedding. Judging by the hashtags the dress is Dolce e Gabbana. It looks like the bride changed for the evening!

Userzzz · 23/07/2020 14:31

I don't like the sleeves. Its definitely unique, a bit too much Scarlett Ohara going on for my taste.

Love this!
FizzyGreenWater · 23/07/2020 14:36

Yes, very Disney princess.

Or cake! She looks like a well-baked cakelet prepared for a posh afternoon tea.

I do quite like it though.

AdelaideK · 23/07/2020 14:37

I don't like either dress posted.

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 23/07/2020 14:46

Sorry, she looks like little bo peep. Not my taste at all

ichifanny · 23/07/2020 15:03

She looks ready to serve Steiners of Beer

SwayingInTime · 23/07/2020 15:06

Looks like an expensive continental holy communion gown. Which I love!

zukiecat · 23/07/2020 15:09

It's an absolutely beautiful dress!

I love it, the second lace dress that someone linked to is awful, very cheap looking

totallyyesno · 23/07/2020 15:44

Ha! This is obviously a marmite dress. I do still think it is beautiful although it wouldn't suit me. I do live in Italy though so maybe my taste has been influenced by that.
Yes, very Disney princess.
Noooooooo! I hate Disney. I was thinking more along the lines of Italian/Spanish aristocracy...but it's the bodice I love in particular, so delicate.

I love it. It is so chic.

purplecorkheart · 23/07/2020 16:00

Not a fan of the skirt. The second dress is awful looks so cheap.

FizzyGreenWater · 23/07/2020 16:35

Ha! This is obviously a marmite dress

Err no, not really.

It's nice, it has nice things about it - most people have said that - it isn't everyone's idea of a wedding dress really is probably the best way to sum it up.

jay55 · 23/07/2020 17:31

Love the lace hate the style.
My grandmother used to make lace like that.
