How to rescue DD's hair?

My wonderful but impulsive 14yo DD has let her friends bleach her hair. It was brown/dark blond with (beautiful!) natural highlights. It's now patchy blond with some orangy bits and some bits they missed . Some of the blond bits are very white and seem a bit frazzled.

She's absolutely gutted. Her hair was so beautiful. She's cut a few inches off already because she said the ends we're really bad.

What should we do to rescue it? I'm nervous of adding any more colour in case it makes the condition worse.

Advice needed please!

bleach properly. then apply any drugstore color. wash properly put and then use the conditioner. 30 quid and done.
Been doing it for 30 years, it works.
And it's only hair. It'll grow back.

Using colour stripping techniques will make no difference to hair that has been bleached, it only works on hair that has been coloured too dark, black for example. She has lifted colour not deposited it. Using vitamin C as a masque will dry it out further.
I think it would be a salon trip, don’t attempt to correct it yourself.

Deep condition, get some more bleach and a brush and some sectioning clips and in a week or so go back in and help her to go over the dark spots/orange parts ONLY - you just need to get it all to a very pale yellow. Use 20 or 30vol developer. Once it’s all one shade then tone it however she likes, either white or blonde or however.

Then deep condition, deep condition and deep condition some more! Avoid using too much heat on it - let it air dry if you can.

It’ll be fine. It’s only hair!

Forgot to add - Bleach London (online and in Boots) make fab bleaching kits and toners and I’m pretty sure there’s a less harsh one in their range.

Also check youtube for a tutorial if you’ve never done it, there are tons out there but if you take your time it’s really not difficult, you’ll be fine

Book into a salon, at least they will be able to colour correct it and many use opalex treatments to help mend the hair...

Loads of deep conditioning treatment inc overnight oil treatments, bleach over really bad patches or try a bleach bath then tone with an ashy dye also get a decent purple shampoo/conditioner. As per PP I would also recommend Bleach London they make a toner called champagne super toner which is great.

Do not do anything yourself. Call round all the hair dressers you know are half Decent and try and get her booked in. Explain everything and sadly be prepared to pay £££ for conditioning treatments etc

You need a hairdresser to sort it. I was having my hair cut on Friday and a lady came in with her two daughters to have their home bleached hair fixed.

They were toning it, cutting it and putting an intensive treatment on it. When she came to pay it was £185! I nearly fainted 😬

I hope you can get it sorted ☺️

For £185 I’d shave their heads at home.

Condition it and put a semi permanent hair colour over the top in an ash colour, if your nervous do a test patch first. Then go to the hairdresser for a decent cut.
