Any Afro hair specialists?

I have my hair texturised in the salon (relaxer but left one for less time) but havnt been sad shielding. Am considering letting my husband loose on it. Anyone know which brand to get and any tips? Thanks so much

Half West Indian and half white, very thick, very curly Afro if I don't touch it.
