Disappointed with As I Am Coconut CoWash Cleansing Conditioner - anyone else?

After reading great things here about co-washing with the As I Am Coconut CoWash Cleansing Conditioner I thought I'd give it a shot. I have dark wavy hair so I wasn't expecting a huge difference WRT my curls. But I was expecting a lack of frizz. But I've seen zero difference. In everything. Level of frizz, dryness, manageability, softness, the lot. I will persevere since I now have a big tub of it but I wanted to ask whether anyone else has experienced the same. And, if so, whether it takes a few co-washes before you see a difference. Thank you.

I gave up on in it.

My hair sounds similar to yours and it really didn't do anything, just made it unmanageable.

I would definitely recommend As I Am leave in conditioner though, it leaves my hair soft and frizz free.

Thank you. It's just a shame to have spent so much money on something that isn't even better than regular conditioner.

Hi, I binned it after a few uses. Same as the posters above.

I think sometimes curly hair just doesnt agree with coconut, that may be the case here

Did nothing for my hair. After I felt as if my hair wasn't as clean as I liked it too.

SunshineChatter · 23/07/2020 10:20

My hair feels clean - it's just that I didn't see any difference with regard to frizz. And my hair isn't as soft as when I use my normal conditioner (nothing fancy - just stuff I pick up at the supermarket). So now I use this pricey stuff first and then my regular conditioner!

Ooh I love it normally but funnily enough recently I’ve been wondering if it’s doing a well as it used to and since I haven’t been colouring or styling my hair as usual in lockdown, it should be in the best condition ever (it’s not).

However since I have thick dry hair, it never ever gets greasy after I use this - I literally have to remember to wash it!

Has anyone tried hairstory? So expensive but if it was good I would be worth it.

SunshineChatter · 23/07/2020 10:56

I'm at the stage where I probably won't try anything expensive again on the back of online reviews. If you read other threads here about this product many people rave about it. And yet now I posted this one, it seems there are quite a few people who don't rate it at all. So when I want an injection of moisture in my hair, I'll sleep with coconut oil in as I've done in the past. It does make a difference and it's cheap.

I love it but I don't use shampoo so I use it instead, not for making it softer/less dry if that makes sense? Mostly I wash with conditioner but I like the as I am every week or so

I absolutely love it, but some people’s hair doesn’t get on well with coconut
