Messy hair

Hi ladies, does anyone know what all these wispy bits of hair are that stick up at the front of my hair. They’re like baby hair but don’t know what’s caused it. I very rarely use straighteners or other heating products. In fact usually I just stick my hair up in a bun don’t do much with it generally.
How could I get rid of this hair as whatever I do it’s always there and looks a mess! Thank you.

Can't help, but I've got some too, right at the front. (but I'm 57 and blaming menopausal hormones) So annoying.

Have you had a baby recently? I now have this after having my son a year ago, hair regrowth x

If you tie your hair up a lot it could be breakage. What do you use to tie your hair up?

Bambi1980 · 20/07/2020 15:07

Thanks ladies. I had my twins in 2017 so not sure it’s that. I used normal black bands to tie it but yes I do have it more up that down just haven’t the time to do anything with it. It probably needs a good treatment on it. My twin girls have all curly bits that stick up too around the front of their hair. Wonder if it’s just how we are.

If I use normal hair bands and tie it up a lot it starts breaking. I have to wear it down more and use scarves, scrunchies tied loose, etc.

I've got this recently too and I think it must be from wearing it tied up every day of lockdown!

Staywithmemyblood · 20/07/2020 23:39

Mine's the same, OP 😕 I don't think it's breakage, it's just the way it is. Very annoying though, so I'm interested if anyone has a solution (a quick, easy one as I don't spend a lot of time faffing with my hair. It's usually in a messy bun)

Has the hair broken off or is it new regrowth, you’re best placed to tell the difference. I think it would be strange to have that much uniform new growth so I’m inclined to say it’s just snapped off. It doesn’t look like baby hair either.

I think the obvious styling solution is using hairspray (or a cream/gel) and a brush to get it to lay how you want it to.

Also your hair seems a bit dry/frizzy due to how the hair is resting upwards like that. Buy a hair serum.

When it’s in better condition it should lay more like the rest of your hair although it’s shorter in length

I have been trimming the ends if mine in the hope that it will encourage growth.

I think it is working!

It's regrowth. Did you lose a lot of 3-6 months ago, possibly through breakage on your hairbands if you tie it in buns a lot? Just get some gel/hairspray and slick it down, it will grow out in 6-8 weeks enough to sit down.
