What would you wear this skirt with?

I bought this skirt (and the shirt as I really like the print), and my very boring normal style would be to put a plain dusky pink or slate grey blouse/top with it for work. But I'm trying to be a bit more interesting so any suggestions?
I'm 47, pale, silver/white hair, 5'9, size 12, 32F bust for full disclosure

I'd wear it with a tight vest or cami .. hoe about a denim shirt ? Not sure there is much else you can do as you can't really wear another pattern unless you are super confident in your choice I think it would just look a bit daft.

Fidgety31 · 19/07/2020 20:46

I would wear a black camisole style vest top
But that’s because I always wear at least
One black item with everything

Anthilda · 19/07/2020 20:52

Either a white or khaki vest and sandals for day time or a black polo and black stiletto calf or knee length boots on an evening.

RunningFromInsanity · 19/07/2020 20:54

White top tucked in or crop top.
Sandals

That's a cute skirt! I think you can do loads with it. Tru a range of different shoes from trainers to ankle boots, smart to casual. Tops can also be quite varied. I think i might agree with the comment above re pattern BUT you can go for different textures.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/07/2020 20:56

That's lovely! I'd wear it with a fitted black t-shirt or camisole and then a black cropped jersey jacket for work. For evenings in the pub, I'd pair it with heeled ankle boots and a biker jacket. For day time play, a white or black cami, denim jacket and white trainers.

Cos are good for more arty types of top that would still be single colour but a bit more fun. Like this maybe www.cosstores.com/en_gbp/women/womenswear/tops/product.puff-sleeve-cotton-top-turquoise.0908958002.html

SpeedofaSloth · 19/07/2020 20:57

I was interested in this skirt, is it good quality?

SpeedofaSloth · 19/07/2020 20:58

I would probably wear it with a white t shirt and denim jacket and sandals BTW (I am 45).

Griefmonster · 19/07/2020 20:59

Lovely! I like the denim shirt idea or the dusty pink you mentioned (or any other colour picked out) in a structured t or vest with a light bomber over, maybe ina khaki?. I would probably go full on and wear the matching shirt buttoned right up and a bomber

JaneJeffer · 19/07/2020 21:06

I'd wear something in the yellow shade that's in the skirt.

CMOTDibbler · 19/07/2020 21:12

@JaneJeffer I was just contemplating some dark yellow trousers to go with the shirt

Thanks all, maybe I'm not so far off then. I hadn't thought of khaki (in fact a colour I never wear) and will give that a go

I think I bright pink same shade as the accents on the skirt would work!

Alsohuman · 19/07/2020 22:53

I was very taken with the shirt, I almost ordered it but I already have too many shirts and sense prevailed! I wouldn’t wear a vest top with it at all. It would look great with a navy or khaki t shirt now, maybe with a denim jacket on cooler days and with a navy sweater when it gets cooler. White or silver trainers now and flat Chelsea boots in the winter.

1forAll74 · 20/07/2020 02:54

It's a nice skirt. I would wear either a white, black or the right colour pink tone strappy camisole top. I hate high necks and collars etc. The skirt says it all, without having a too fussy top.

Loveinatimeofcovid · 20/07/2020 03:00

I’d wear a blouse in any of the colours on the skirt, you have plenty to choose from.
