Wondering if anyone has tried Trinny London products?
I'm 47 and looking for a new foundation. Thanks.

Yes. Love the BFF

Charlieiscool · 21/07/2020 19:01

I think it’s just gimmicky. Loads of better products out there. Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, MAC etc. I have been disappointed by the Trinny stuff I bought.

LunaNorth · 21/07/2020 19:22

The BFF is amazing.

You’ve reminded me, actually - need to order some.

Pomegranatemolasses · 21/07/2020 19:32

Have just ordered some on the strength of this thread!

leli · 21/07/2020 19:41

I love Trinny London products. But you need a mix and match selection imho.

LunaNorth · 21/07/2020 19:44

The under eye BFF serum is brilliant too. And the Just a Touch foundation and the Starlight cream.

I don’t rate the eyeshadows or the lipsticks. Eyeshadow isn’t pigmented enough, and lipsticks are very drying.

Anything for skin/face has been great though.

Oh, apart from the Miracle Blur. Crap.

LesLavandes · 21/07/2020 20:00

I like Miracle Blur round my lips

LunaNorth · 21/07/2020 20:02

@LesLavandes that’s what I bought it for. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but it kind of rubs off into little crumbs.

leli · 21/07/2020 20:40

Funnily enough, miracle blur was the one product I didn’t get on with. Maybe my fissures are too large!

LesLavandes · 21/07/2020 20:48

I just use a very small amount of MB. It goes on ok but my skin sucks up most things!

Alongcameacat · 21/07/2020 21:16

Awful make up. Much better products and brands available. Lip products are incredibly drying, make up is crumbly. And it is so expensive but to be fair, I wouldn’t buy it again if it was half the price. I gave away my ‘stack’. Total gimmick.

Didyousaynutella · 21/07/2020 21:34

I love the bff. I cover my face in it. Mix it with concealer under/around my eyes ( cheaper than getting bff eye). Mix it with my foundation when I want a bit more coverage. It is spf 30, mistake proof and gives a nice glow. Just wish it was a bit cheaper as I go through a lot.

Bff eye is ok but not much coverage and just soo expensive as it doesn’t last.

I can’t get on with the lip2cheek on my lips. Too drying. But work fine as cream blushers.

beguilingeyes · 22/07/2020 15:39

I'm too busy judging her for her wife-battery billionaire boyfriend to buy any of her stuff. isn't he a major investor too?

Didyousaynutella · 22/07/2020 18:03

Yes judge her for someone else’s supposed sins why don’t you Hmm

beguilingeyes · 22/07/2020 19:46

He's involved in the business.

headlock · 24/07/2020 07:57

Thanks for the replies. @Charlieiscool I've read lots of good things about the brands you mention. Have you tried them all? I need a bit of coverage, something that stays put, but want to keep it light.
It's such a minefield and don't want to waste money.

Didyousaynutella I judge her for being involved with him and he's a shareholder in the company so it's valid.

EdithHope · 16/08/2020 15:17

I use NARS concealer and BB cream, lovely stuff and great coverage. Also have used MAC powder foundation, amazing coverage and texture for a powder. I'm also a fan of MAC's Blot powder to counter excess shine.

Have you considered Bobbi Brown? Great colour range, I love their stick foundation for heavier coverage.

Never used any Trinny products. I like some of her clothing tips but the makeup just leaves me cold - the foundation shades don't seem varied enough (I'm in no hurry to get to Fenwicks in London to get a match in person, I wouldn't trust the online guide for such a ££ spendy purchase). And frankly, smudging on eye colour with a finger won't work for my eyes and they all seem too shimmery for my tastes.

I use the bff cream and just a touch and it really tones down my rosacea and doesn’t sting. I can see me buying these on repeat.

I’ve also got a couple of eyeshadows and a lip gloss - I’ve been very impressed. The online colour prediction tool worked well for me.

ItsmineAllmine · 16/08/2020 20:52

I use the BFF cream and also the BFF eye concealer. Both really good.

Wasn't bothered about Just a Touch - use it on days when I can't be bothered but I don't think I'd buy it again.

The online colour matching worked well for me.

headlock · 18/08/2020 22:06

Thanks everyone. I'm going to look into these and see if I can order some samples. I don't live near any shops that would stock these.

I hate the just a touch blush and lipstick thingy, it's like clown makeup.
But the bff is very good. The foundation thingy bit is ok but it's not great if you have open pores.
Sorry about the overuse of thingy. I'm no MUA!

Jakadaal · 18/08/2020 23:11

I have quite a few Trinny products but if you want coverage then BFF is not for you.
I love the BFF (on 3rd tube) but switch to a thicker product in winter for more coverage.

What I do like is the versatility of the products especially lip to cheek and the stacks are great for travelling - my make up bag is considerably condensed!

Ironicpentameter · 19/08/2020 09:22

@beguilingeyes

Didyousaynutella I judge her for being involved with him and he's a shareholder in the company so it's valid.
Absolutely it’s valid. She made a decision to become involved with a high profile, mega-wealthy man in the wake of his well-publicised wife-strangling incident in the restaurant she now frequents. Massively poor judgement.
