Where do you buy jewellery?

My best friend has a big birthday coming up and I was thinking of getting her a nice ish piece of jewellery as a gift, but I’m a bit stumped on where to look!

She tends to like silver finishes over gold and doesn’t mind a bit of sparkle. she likes wearing earrings and rings and bracelets occasionally. My budget isn’t huge, £50/250 range, but I’d really love some inspiration If you’ve got anything you’ve bought recently, or just listed after!

These are all in my saved basket, but I can't justify buying right now as have just ordered/received two other items this week.

I'm in a similar situation and have been considering these spirit animal necklace or archetype necklace or maybe both if necklace stacking is still a thing? She's had a tough time lately and thought something positive and affirming might be nice.

I have always bought my jewellery from Azendi. I started when I lived in Headingley 20 years ago and I’ve still not found anything I like as much for everyday use. Their stuff is fairly simple, priced reasonably and comes in lovely packaging if you’re giving it as gifts. Some earrings I bought there for £15 when I was a student are still worn weekly and look great.

I buy most of my jewellery from Etsy. I can spend hours browsing, I love the website.

Try Monica Vinader?

Or I’ve had a couple of nice things from www.boothandbooth.co.uk .

Thinkle · 20/07/2020 09:12

Dinny Hall and some things from Tiffany as special gifts in the full knowledge that I’m paying for the name and the box

I like Chambers and Beau jewellery. Some of the pieces you can have engraved so it would make it more personal. They have lots of ideas to choose from and I’ve always had compliments on the necklaces I have from there.

Might be a bit obvious but I really like Pandora jewellery especially their earrings.
TK Max also have some nice pieces.

BringMeTea · 20/07/2020 12:53

Please stop enabling me! Just ordered from the Azendi sale to see what quality is like. I also used to live in Headingley as a student JaniceBattersby so easily swayed by nostalgia. Grin

I also like Azendi. But my favourite at the moment is Banyan

Can buy from various sources online including Etsy and Amazon

MobLife · 20/07/2020 20:35

Otis Jaxon
Dinny Hall
Monica Vinader

For something a bit more cheap and cheerful I like Oliver Bonas stuff
& Other Stories have nice bits too

kittensandcoffee · 20/07/2020 20:44

Oliver Bonas mostly, and a site called JewelleryBox which is absolutely excellent for affordable solid gold pieces. It's hard to resist ordering loads from there tbh!

JofraArchersFastestBall · 20/07/2020 21:15

I love Etsy for silver jewellery. It's a bit of a mine field as the quality is really variable - but if you have time to search and check reviews you can find some really beautiful, handmade things.

Obviously everyone's taste is different, but I can't recommend this shop highly enough. I've had a few things from her and they're so well made and lovely to wear. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Tripoliandrouge www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Tripoliandrouge

OhTheRoses · 20/07/2020 21:19

I agree with Oliver Bonas. I also like polished beady things and there's often a quirky shop that sells it. Towns like Cambridge/York are good.

honeylou42 · 20/07/2020 21:34

Daniella Draper does beautiful jewellery 😊

hatesomethinchangesomethin · 21/07/2020 05:57
