Wear do you buy summer/beach dresses?

Just that, really. I’ve come to realise that dresses really suit me, but I’m having trouble finding some I like. I don’t have great knees - the best length for me is midi or maxi, and I don’t want polyester. I’m thinking three or four that I can wear in the warm weather and maybe take on a beach holiday next year. I am a jewel winter colouring and I’m not keen on pastels or khaki.
Please point me in the right direction - I’m having a total lack of inspiration at the moment.

My summer dresses, all midi or maxi this year have come from Arket (sale), John Lewis Kin and hush. Have to accept rayon/viscose with hush but that’s much better than polyester. Also always always keep an eye on what Uniqlo have to offer too.

H&M have had some lovely ones today - many in natural fabrics.
I have also had some nice ones from Monki, again searching out the natural fabrics.
Similarly like Kin, Cos and Other Stories.

Bumping because I’m also in search of the fabled school run dress ideally in viscose or similar. Does anyone have any good links?

White Company & Boden make up about 80% of my summer dresses

I love dresses. In the summer l rarely wear anything else. I have bought from Joe Browns, John Lewis and Debenhams of late.

There's also the famous MN/H&M dress in pink.
That's 100 per cent cotton.

ASOS mainly but I did buy two recently in the sale from Cos & Arket.
