Is this to much for a dinner date

Going on a date for my birthday soon if we go for dinner would this dress be to much. I’m 25 if it makes any difference and would wear it with heels and a cropped black denim fitted jacket.

I'm 21 for reference and I would wear that! With tights though as I think bare legs can look a bit too much with the first dress.

Have a great time Smile

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 19/07/2020 10:16

Both fabulous but pls don’t put a denim jacket with the top dress- maybe a leather but not denim!

dudsville · 19/07/2020 10:17

It entirely depends on where you're going but they are nice outfits. Enjoy your meal out, happy birthday!

Booksandwine80 · 19/07/2020 10:17

The first dress. The one with the boots seems a bit “wintery” Smile

RogueV · 19/07/2020 10:17

Both look great. Go for it!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 19/07/2020 10:17

Disagreeing with the other poster- sorry- no tights- it’s not a tights dress.

Btw: sat here a decade older and pregnant feeling thoroughly depressed now Wink

Nonestopcaberet · 19/07/2020 10:17

Depends on the restaurant. Lovely dress for a high class restaurant, but you’d look well out of place in a pub restaurant.

rainatnightlove · 19/07/2020 10:18

@OnlyFoolsnMothers you might be right actually! I think I need to be a bit more daring with having my legs out 🤣 and deffo a leather jacket instead of denim.

Littlebeachhut · 19/07/2020 10:20

Yes I have no idea where he is taking me as it’s a surprise I’m tempted to order something else completely different happy with suggestions

I want a fitted dress preferably but I’m also not wanting to be over dressed

I love the first. I think denim would help make it look.more casual if that's what you wanted

DailyKegelReminder · 19/07/2020 11:27

I like the first. Not with tights, a denim jacket could look nice and make it more casual but I agree with PP that a leather jacket (or no jacket at all) would be better.

Littlebeachhut · 19/07/2020 11:32

Yes I want to be causal but still look good as I don’t no where we are going x

The second outfit is a bit out of season. To be really honest I wouldn’t be caught dead in the first dress, way too much going on there. I’m around you age for context.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/07/2020 11:40

Prefer the second dress, but not with those boots.

Littlebeachhut · 19/07/2020 11:49

Can anyone suggest any other dresses please

OP posts:
Littlebeachhut · 19/07/2020 11:49

Budget of £50 and size 10 x

Oly4 · 19/07/2020 11:52

The first dress is perfect without tights

Cinders29 · 19/07/2020 12:09

I think you really need to get an idea of the kind of place they're thinking. Would feel really out of place in the top one if it's a pub type place. If nicer, first dress would be fine but def no tights or denim jacket. As pp said leather or none. Could you ask them if you need to really dress up or dress more casual?

Namechangewhy · 19/07/2020 12:12

It’s your birthday - you can wear what you like without feeling over dressed wherever you go! First dress is good, no denim jacket though

Littlebeachhut · 19/07/2020 13:04

Going to go shopping and see what else I can find what would you all wear to a birthday dinner x

Cinders29 · 19/07/2020 14:15

I'd love to give you lots of options but first will need to know what type of place you're going.

Timmytoo · 19/07/2020 14:18

I Love the 2nd dress. It would hide the bloat from lots of drink and food 😂. Just kidding.. Seriously in love withe 2nd outfit.
