Helix piercing

Hi everyone,

After a bit of advice/ reassurance on getting a helix piercing. Anyone got any experiences to share.

I’ve wanted one for ages and have finally booked in for one tomorrow, and I’m now starting to freak myself out. Is it really painful? Is the aftercare really as involved as they say?

I guess I’m just hoping you’ll all say you’ve had it and it was totally fine and nothing all to worry about Grin

Thanks!

Oh, I just want a stud, with a stone!

Sockbogies · 20/07/2020 21:57

I had mine done about 20 years ago, and despite my best efforts the bugger never healed up properly. Even now I still have a small scar that gets manky from time to time (I shower everyday and always clean round my ears). Mine was done with a gun which apparently can cause problems with the cartilage being damaged, which makes sense in my case.

Mine was £25 with a bar. I changed the bar after a couple of months as it was long and my hair kept catching on it.

I got it done. Titanium crystal stud. £25 for piercing and pair. Will probably change to coloured in three months.

Barely felt it! Chuffed Grin

@excelledyourself yay for being brave.

@excelledyourself if you want different jewellery go to a piercer that sells a range of jewellery with their own autoclave to sterilise it.

Try looking for UK APP (Association of Professional Piercers) members. You will pay more as they jewellery cost will be separate but will be better quality. You can probably get the jewellery you like straight away. If you are instagram search for 'Saferpiercing' for inspiration.

Thanks @StripyHorse I've already had it done. Don't I still need to wait three months? I've had a look at the only one near me though. Some nice jewellery on there, although not so much silver/titanium based, which is what I want. Ideally with a green stone, I think.

Thank you though!

excelledyourself · 31/07/2020 01:28

Oh dear. Now I've looked at the others and there's about £800 worth of studs I want Grin

StripyHorse · 31/07/2020 11:08

Sorry didn't realise you had had it done. You will need to wait now. If you know what you want they can probably order for you so you could get silver coloured titanium with green stones really easily - might not be cheap though!
