Showering at night?

Does anyone else shower at night time instead of mornings? I've started to do this every day for the last month but hoping it's not gross?

So every night full shower wash hair and body fully and shave if necessary then in the morning I have more time to do other stuff with the family and if hair needs styling it's already dry so doesn't take near as long do mornings I just rinse face and do teeth but don't do private's as they were done the night before

@dogperson05 I am indeed washing out natural oil. I've an excess of the bloody stuff on my scalp. I've hit menopause and everything is less oily. Except on my head. I've tried leaving it longer to see what happens and all that happens is that my hair goes from greasy to really greasy.

jessstan2 · 17/07/2020 15:41

You can shower whenever you like. When I went to work I used to do itin the morning and then have a nice long bath in the evening.

Poppyismyfavourite · 17/07/2020 15:47

@dogperson05 I tried once to just wash it just every other day for 3/4 months, thinking my hair/scalp would adjust... and the result... for months I had really greasy hair every other day!

AnaViaSalamanca · 17/07/2020 17:06

@dogperson05 I don't want to, and my hairdressers agrees with you, but I work out almost every day and hair gets sweaty. How do you cope with that?

lynsey91 · 17/07/2020 17:17

@dogperson05 I have washed my hair every day since I was 15. I am 65 now.

My hairdresser says there is nothing wrong in washing it every day. She says we all wash our faces every day so why not our hair? That gets dirty too.

Also hairdressers always tell me my hair is in good condition.

It is very short and, as it sticks out every morning, it is easier to wash it than try and wet it and get it to lie flat

Bella2020 · 17/07/2020 18:29

When I was working, I used to shower at night. I didn't want to go to bed feeling grubby. I'd only shower again in the morning if it had been a hot, uncomfortable and sweaty night.

Drogonssmile · 17/07/2020 18:40

I've always showered at night. I feel dirty getting into my bed if not! And I'm too lazy to wash my hair in the mornings My hair is very long so I just plait it and let it dry naturally.

PinkyBrain · 17/07/2020 18:43

Yes me, I’ve got really long thick hair and can’t spare the washing and drying time in the morning so I have a lovely long luxurious bath before bed every night and then a much less enjoyable sink wash before work in the morning. Grin

DisobedientHamster · 17/07/2020 18:46

I used to, but now with menopause get too sweaty at night.

Dontsayyouloveme · 17/07/2020 18:56

I do but still need to have a shower. (Minus hair wash) the following morning. Thanks menopause 🥵

SkinnyChicky · 17/07/2020 19:02

Yes sometimes. But if I were going to a meeting or something like that it will always be a morning shower.

TimeWastingButFun · 18/07/2020 15:23

@dogperson05 there's no chance of me getting even a wide toothed comb through my hair in the morning unless it's got conditioner on it. And it gets heavy if I don't use a light shampoo first. My hair is very wild and curly!

Mnhealth202020 · 18/07/2020 15:55

I shower am & pm.

AuntieMarys · 18/07/2020 15:58

I shower morning and night

Sakura7 · 18/07/2020 15:58

Nothing wrong with an evening shower. I think as long as you're showering at some stage during the day, it doesn't really matter what time.

ambereeree · 18/07/2020 19:58

It's much easier to shower when small kids are in bed rather than rushing in the morning.

Laurahurley · 23/02/2022 23:16

I have a 2 year old boy who can be a little handful of trying to get to sleep some times. I am trying to find out weather its best to have a shower in the morning or evening. I am trying to find out weather its best to have a shower in the morning or evening. Mornings I never wake up before him and don't have time when he's awake especially on days I have to get him ready for nursery. Evenings I am worried that if I have a shower it would wake him up as the bathroom is right opposite his bedroom. Would like to know other mums opinions of what they would do in this case.

Discwriter · 23/02/2022 23:24

Nighttime. DCs are in bed, so no rush, and bedsheets stay nice and fresh. DH also shower/baths at night.

DivorcedAndDelighted · 24/02/2022 08:18

There is nothing gross about it! If you don't stink and feel comfortable, it doesn't matter what time of day you wash. Our bodies and days are all different, so just wash when it's most convenient for you.
It wasn't that long ago that most people had one weekly bath, and just spruced up in between with a flannel!

StarlightLady · 24/02/2022 09:09

I do both.

MovinOnUp · 24/02/2022 09:22

These days I have my big shower at night, wash and condition hair, shave anything that needs shaved.
Rough dry hair before bed.

If I'm just pottering around the house the next day I'm happy to not bother with another shower in the morning, but if going out I'll have a shower from the neck down.

I do this the opposite way around when I'm doing my exercise in the mornings, But am 74 months pregnant at the moment so not partaking in the morning cardio at the moment.

balalake · 24/02/2022 09:23

I would not miss a morning shower. Even if not leaving the house or spending a day coming into contact coming with no-one else indoors. I'd just feel unclean and uncomfortable.

Thatsplentyjack · 24/02/2022 09:24

I shower or bath at night too. I can't fit a shower in in the morning.

JammyCandy · 24/02/2022 09:26

I do this. I do sleep in clean PJs every night though

gunnersgold · 25/02/2022 20:37

I shower when I feel like it , sometimes once a day , sometimes 2 x . I only wash my hair every 5-7 days soy showers are quick unless it's wash day!
