Outfit for dinner and I've lost my mojo!

Going out for dinner next weekend. I feel like I've lost my confidence after a million months in lockdown! Sad

I've been living in straight or girlfriend jeans and t/shirt and don't know how to dress any differently.

Going out for dinner next week. Just dinner. Nice but not off the scale. Everywhere seems soooooo casual these days. I've looked in my wardrobe and suddenly can't remember what I used to wear!

I'm 47. Size 10. 5'7. Does anyone have any inspiration.

I like this. too dressy? Don't want to wear heels. But can't pull off the ankle boot and dress look. So I'd be flats or wedges at the least.

I could have written this!! I too have a dinner out next week and haven't worn heels in 3 months.
That dress is beautiful - would look gorgeous with a low block heel strappy square toe sandal or a more mid heel mule - I love that cushioned padded mule that is in at the moment. Or could really cool vibe it up by wearing white trainers - at 5" 7, you can afford the lack of height.
Have fun Grin

Thanks JMAngel1 It seems lockdown has fucked with my head more than I expected Hmm
I've got some great wide legged trousers, but they definitely only look good in killer heels.

I do casual well enough. I can do a posh frock when I need to. Struggle a bit more with the in between!

Depends where exactly you’re going to dinner but on the surface, I think it’s too dressy. It looks like a formal evening dress that could be worn at a wedding reception or other occasion. Or at work even. That dress needs heels too (or boring work appropriate flat shoes)

For date night/dinner I think you could go a bit more fun and slightly more casual. I’m thinking a flowy printed maxi dress from Zara sort of thing. Will look better with your flats/wedges too

Thanks @Mnhealth202020 I'm off to look at Zara. I don't like/suit pattens or frills. Will see what Zara have.

Fair enough. Zara has lots of lovely items this season, I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration

It's a lovely dress but I agree that it looks very formal and dressy for a casual dinner.

I tend to go to quite casual places for dinner but will usually wear something like a blouse or t shirt tucked into high waisted trousers or a loose, unstructured jumpsuit or midi dress.
