Is this a change of shape?

I am, and have always been a size 12. Across brands, tops dresses whatever.

When pregnant with No 1 I gained 4 stone, lost 2. When pregnant with No 2 - I gained 2 stone and - having given birth month before lockdown began - I have lost a whopping 3.7 stone. Breastfeeding and lockdown long woodland runs. I suppose. No specific effort.

Long story short I am once again a size 12. Wearing age old size 12 stuff. BMI still overweight at 26/27 I think. But absolutely comfortably size 12 - across 7 or 8 brands and for various items of clothing.

But here’s the thing. Despite my current weight being a weight I’ve been before even pre kids at all, and despite my current size being the same for the last 15 years except when pregnant - I look larger in pictures.

My arms are awful. I just look large. But I don’t get it. I am the exact same weight from pre DC1. I am wearing dresses and jeans which are a size 12 and are what 5-6 years old. DC1 is 4 by the way and DC2 5 months.

Has my “shape” changed then! Ribs expanded? Pelvis broadened by bone structure?

I feel slightly miserable about my pictures particularly because scales and dress size are giving me no clues at all :/
