Long Tall Sally alternatives

Sorry if this has been asked before! I discovered Long Tall Sally about 3 weeks ago as although I'm not that tall (5' 7"), I have a really long body for some reason and always suffered from tops being too short. Bought some tops from Long Tall Sally and they're great! I'm also large of stomach so help with that as well, as a top riding up is not pleasant for anyone.

However, having literally just discovered LTS they are now closing down Sad Does anyone have any recommendations for other places to buy tops that work on a long torso? Thank you!

Following this as I've spent the last fortnight trying to find any tops that sit properly on me (5ft 9).

I find seasalt good, and the occasional bits in gap and topshop.

Northumberlandlass · 16/07/2020 11:35

Asos, DP, New Look, Next all have Tall online sections. Alternatively, buy dresses & wear them as tops! I do this a lot.

DuringDinnerMints · 16/07/2020 17:38

ASOS have a good tall range. I'm 6ft and it fits me. Otherwise Next or Dorothy Perkins.

RooKangaroo · 16/07/2020 19:37

I would also say Seasalt. They do some of their tips in a tall option, but they also do lots of lovely tunics which are just long tops.

Nanalisa60 · 16/07/2020 19:38

NEXT do a tall range on line

Boden long.

BikeRunSki · 17/07/2020 06:57

Gap Tall online, although the range isn’t as good as it used to be.

Boden tall stuff always used to be just longer trousers and skirts, and dress with longer skirts, but they didn’t lower the waist band/ no good for long torsos.

Lands End occassionally have long tops.

WarmHeyerette · 17/07/2020 07:51

How many of these brands are like LTS though? Length of tops, sleeves and width across shoulders is what I’ll miss most because lots of places do longer length trousers.

BikeRunSki · 17/07/2020 08:02

@WarmHeyerette - Gap Tall tips are comparable in proportion to LTS. Like the OP, I’m “short tall” 5’8”, but my height is largely in my torso*. Gap Tall tops are excellent for me.

  • I have a custom build bike. The guy who built the frame got me back for remeasuring because he thought he’d written down my back length wrong. Going by his charts, my torso, arms and feet are more in line with being 6’ tall. I was born 7 weeks early, I like to think my long legs would have grown then.Smile
Tallandall · 10/08/2020 12:46

I am more long legs than body their is a fb group ‘now LTS is closing, what’s the alternative?’ although it is mainly for women above 5’10’ it is also about women sharing fashion tips etc.

Elouera · 10/08/2020 12:49

I'm only 168cm (5'6) but must have monkey, long arms, as always find jackets in particular dont come long enough! Looking at the recommendations too.

Cismyfatarse1 · 18/08/2020 21:42

They have just had a reprieve and been bought out by another company.

Tallandall · 20/08/2020 07:14

Yes, @Cismyfatarse fingers crossed. I think we need to watch this space to see what they want to do with the LTS brand.

I am much taller but my arms aren’t particularly long but my legs are. I like Seasalt for tops the length is good but I usually opt for short or 3/4 sleeve tops.

BillywilliamV · 20/08/2020 07:24

I hope they open a few shops, lower their prices, ditch their weird shaped sizing models, realise 6ft women do not want ditsy prints and generally pull their act back together.
I have been a customer for 40 years but apart from jeans have not bought anything since the shops closed. I could have told them a year ago that they would go oob if they didn’t sort things out.
So happy they are still around though, DDs now in 34 and 36 inch leg trousers, going to need them!

Tallandall · 20/08/2020 08:49

@ BillywilliamV I think they tried to create too big a range to cater for tall younger women as well as catering for tall older customers such as you and l but ended up not pleasing anyone.
