LED face masks

Am thinking of buying one of those at-home LED masks, mostly for anti-ageing reasons. Considering the Dennis Gross one or the Current Body. Has anyone any experience of either of these or any other brand? Are they any use at all or just an expensive gimmick? Might I be better off going for a course of Dermalux or similar? Thanks

I’ve got a beauty star one which I got when I had cystic acne and I used to do an hour on red every day which I credit for stopping me getting pitted scarring.

I do 15 mins as often as I can and look fresher the day after.

A poster on this site the other day recommended the Project E Proton mask from Amazon. Said it made quite a difference.

I have the Current Body LED mask. I was seeing a bit of a difference. Brighter skin etc. But then it broke! So I’m sending it back for a replacement. Customer service is good though!

Yes Project E on Amazon is excellent.

I have a fairly cheap version and i can see the difference, in my skin ,as long as the colours are the spec they should be,i can't see what difference the price makes
My daughter ordered one for herself after seeing my skin after using mine

I’ve been looking at these either for my DD to help with teenage spot prone skin or me to help boost collagen and reduce wrinkles. Can one mask do both or are different masks better for one function or the other?

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/07/2020 20:53

One mask will do both but acne’s a medical condition so I’d get the dr to help her with that.

I’ve had courses of dermalux which I really rate. I think you can buy their flex version for use at home but it’s definitely a splurge! Xx

I'm a bit baffled by this, we have light hitting our faces (light made up of blue, red, and green wavelengths) the majority of the time we are awake. Does anyone have a link to a study?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 18/07/2020 17:52

Thanks Fluffy, I studied electrical engineering and spent a lot of time messing around with LED's so I'm intrigued :)

I've been using the dr Dennis gross mask for around 6 weeks now, I use it every night after double cleansing and it's made a huge difference. Couldn't recommend it enough. I use it on the red and blue mixed light always as I used to suffer from breakouts until I used this so I don't want to stop using it now.
