My hair is disastrous and it's depressing me!!

I have thick Asian hair. It is neither curly nor straight and it is an absolute frizz bomb. It's so so frizzy. I also have bad dandruff. I just don't know what to do with it anymore.

At the moment, I've been alternating between the Body Shop Ginger shampoo and the OGX argan oil hydrate and revive one. I've been mainly using the Body Shop Ginger condition but I tried using the Garnier Banana Hair food as a conditioner the other day (still horrifically frizzy). I then tend to put inecto coconut oil serum in it and the cantu curl activator in and most days I will put some Garnier Banana Hair food in too. I've recently been spraying the curl reviver in before I brush it and that whilst making my hair soft doesn't seem to be reviving the curls. When I brush it, I use the Body Shop Natural Curl Comb. I brush it everyday.

It's just so frizzy and awful no matter how much oil I put in before washing it and I'm fed up. Even when I straighten it, there's still frizz!

I don't want to do a Keratin treatment bc I don't want it to affect my thickness of hair.

Can somebody please find it in them to help me?

Surely brushing will make it frizzy? You’re spending all that time and money on products, then brushing them out (assuming you’re brushing it when it’s dry).

Curly girl method?

GrumpyHoonMain · 15/07/2020 14:22

Seems like your hair is damaged - wavy Asian hair with lots of frizz often is. Stop all the products and talk to a hair dresser with experience of your type of Asian hair - they can give you tips and recommend products that will genuinely work for you.

@imissmoominmama i thought as i'd be brushing it with a wide tooth comb it wouldn't make it frizzy? the frizz is already present as soon as i get out of the bath

@Dozer i'm concerned that doing the curly girl method won't help my dandruff any and will make it even more noticeable which is why I haven't tried it

@GrumpyHoonMain

Do you know of any hairdressers in the Manchester area?

Try Living Proof Nightcap. It’s an overnight hair mask that works magic on frizz. I got it in M and S.

GrumpyHoonMain · 15/07/2020 14:35

Yes - but mainly for South /south east Asian type hair. Would that work?

mediciempire · 15/07/2020 14:37

@GrumpyHoonMain south Asian would work!
