I had blonde balayage.
I said I wanted it lighter at the hairdressers
The apprentice put the toner on.
She said she had done it more ashy
I hate it
I doesn't even look blonde anymore
Will this fade ?

Contact the salon and tell them you want it to be corrected.

Buzzfrightyears · 15/07/2020 09:58

That isn’t a balayage for sure! Could you contact the salon and ask them to correct it? Or get a refund and go elsewhere?

Anordinarymum · 15/07/2020 09:59

Absolutely what the other ladies said. It's the salon's responsibility to put it right since they did not give you what you asked for.

Spied · 15/07/2020 09:59

It's a beautiful colour ( the exact ashy colour I'm wantingEnvy) but it's definitely not blonde so I agree with pp. You need to contact the salon.

The annoying thing was my stylist was busy on another client so got the apprentice to do it.
It was a nice light blonde till she put the toner on.
I'm assuming she put the wrong toner on.
I called up but they can't get me back in for 2 1/2 weeks as they are so full.
So it's up to me I think to wash and wash it hoping it fades.

They haven't given you what I asked for. I'd call and ask again. It won't become blonder.

AnnaSW1 · 15/07/2020 10:28
  • you asked for
princessTiasmum · 18/07/2020 21:58

If they can't do it for 2 and a half weeks i would ask for a refund then
They might be hoping you will not bother in the end

Toners fade. I purposely get ashy mushroom toner over my previously bleached hair as I didn’t want to be blonde anymore, and I didn’t want a warm dark brown colour put over the top. Before I had mine done last week it was back to being blonde because of lockdown. OP try washing it with head and shoulders and see if that helps strip the toner out, it should lighten with every wash.

LadyPrigsbottom · 18/07/2020 22:31

Before lockdown, I had my hair highlighted with a rose gold toner and the hairdresser said the toner would fade out before I needed the highlights done again. So possibly it will fade!

Mnhealth202020 · 18/07/2020 22:45

I think it WILL fade nicely once you start washing it frequently with head and shoulders

Mnhealth202020 · 18/07/2020 22:48

Basically an overbuild of an ash colour makes your colour look darker than what it actually is, so it will actually look more blonde as the toner is washed out. You might find in 2.5 weeks that the colour is okay.

ichifanny · 19/07/2020 12:57

I’ve had mine toned that colour it always fades and lightens in one or two washes
