Daft question re Trainers

Tinseltrauma · 14/07/2020 14:00

On a whim a year or so ago I bought myself a pair of Stan Smith trainers, thinking they were classic and I would wear them all the time. However I've hardly worn them at all! I don't know what to wear them with or even if anything in my wardrobe will go with them. I am 54, live in skinny jeans and gym stuff, not very stylish at all. I'm 5 foot 6, size 10/12. Do they look ok with skinnies? What do I put on top? What sort of jacket/coat over ?

Please help, they look at me reproachfully every time I stick my ballet flats on yet again!

I wear mine with wide legged trousers, or mom jeans
I have big feet so do get a bit of a clown shoe effect with skinnies. Not that it stops me, mind!

I wear mine with skinny jeans and t shirts.
Leggings and oversized or cropped t shirts and sweaters.

Yes, I fear the clown shoe effect with skinny jeans, and my feet are quite small. I wear plain white trainers (is that what yours are?) with midi dresses and skirts.

Yes mine are plain white. Do I roll up my skinnies a bit? (I have big feet too!)

Yes, I think they look good with a bit of a gap.

Are you wearing socks? You need trainer liners so no sock is visible.
I don’t know your skin tone but if you have nice legs wear them with a longish relaxed dress.

Legs are not fantastic (fat knees), but a floaty dress would do a good cover up !

Rock them with jeans or a floaty dress.

I wear mine with a floral mini dress a lot. Quite like the contrast as Stan’s are quite chunky.

Or, jeans and a white tee or a cami/jeans combo.

Get on Pinterest for inspo too xxx

Thanks all, loads of inspiration there. Having a try on tomorrow!
